I'm really behind on all of this DDA stuff. Does anybody have a list of all the requirements?

I can probably work out two using logic:
- Buses need to be low floor
- Route numbers need to be on the Right (left if inside the bus)

It's not a bell - it is a similar noise to it though.

Not sure what it is, but they've all done it since new.

No - the former "Drifter" batch aren't fitted with Next Stop Announcements.

When a warning light comes on dashboard, it makes the same noise a when the bell is pressed.

I don't know if this applies to other buses, but on MPDs there's a light that comes up "Bus Stop" on the dashboard when the bell is pressed.

I had her on a 21 a few of weeks ago. She's a really nice woman and a good driver. Big Grin

Although I'm not sure she's been at CLS that long, prior to the big rota changes a while back I can't recall ever seeing her driving a bus in CLS. Perhaps she was working for another depot at the time of their meeting in Durham?

Any CLS drivers know any more?

Why is it deptford drivers don't know where to stop on john street in Sunderland, the 35/36 stop At the first bus stop as both of these services go to Chester road first and service 20/20A stops the next one down.

At Holmeside:
Services 20/20A observe the bus stop closest to Park Lane (ie the Stagecoach 3/4/13 stop) as it's a Durham Road service.

Services 35/36 observe the next stop down from my observations - not sure if they're meant to stop here though.

Services 2/2A observe the next stop down from that (ie the Stagecoach 16 stop) as it's direct to Chester Rd opposed to a Park Lane service.

If the 35/36 are rightly using the second stop down from The Point, then I've seen no driver incorrectly using a stand. Even when there has been congestion and drivers have had to wait to pull in, they've always used those stands.

On John St:
Tends to be a free for all as there are so many buses trying to get into the stops outside of Joplings at once. When there has been no other buses pulled in, I've had no issues with drivers actually serving the middle bus stop outside of Joplings. I can't recall an instance whereby a 35/36 has not used the stop closest to the cinema too, when there have been no other buses around. Have you observed otherwise?

She used to do the night bus when it ran every night, and is still on a lates rota now. Been at that depot since she started.

Generally won't see her before 3pm!

GNE made a map on their site with service 35/36 stopping at first stop on john street but the drivers are still using the old middle stop outside joplings

If there is another bus behind, the drivers could be doing this to prevent the need for other drivers to overtake them and in turn end up miles away from the correct stop?

Like I say, I personally haven't seen any misuse of bus stops, but could understand some of the possible reasons behind it.

I was outside joplings this afternoon and all 3 bus stops were clear, and the 36 came in and pulled into the old middle stand then 2 minutes later the 20 arrived and had to pull into the first bus stop as the 36 was in his bus stop.

Nexus needs to do something about the first bus stop on fawcett street, the 5 and 12 was on the stand and the stagecoach 20 wanted to get in the stand aswell, so the 20 driver decided to be a arse and pull up right at the rear of the 12 with his backend over the junction blocking the traffic coming from holmside for at least 10 minutes as the 5 pulled away but the driver on the 12 decided to take his time, even the 33/39 had to pick passengers up from the outside lane as the stagecoach buses think their own the bus stop.

Seem as we're talking about 20/20A stands, since the timetable changes should the 20/20A/X20 be pulling straight onto stand L in Durham Bus Station? I raise the issue because the 20's are due to arrive at 05, 25, 45 minutes past the hour but the Stanley Travel service 40 should be on the stand departing at 06, 26, 46 minutes past the hour (1 minute after the 20's arrive).

Haven't seen any problems happen yet though.

No - in both South Shields and Durham there should be around 10 minutes layover so they should be using the appropriate layover stands. Likewise with the 56 in Sunderland. It shouldn't be rare to see two 20s at the terminus or two 56s at Park Lane at all now as one should be just setting off to depart when the other bus arrives.
