Meaning FOUR Sapphire E400's weren't available...

I think (but can't confirm just yet) that Stockton used a Sapphire Streetlite on the 7 today for half a trip! Solo 2803 went out this afternoon for it's first ever trip in service at Stockton (on the 7)

Can't believe how bad Ashington and Blyth were today, saw it first hand and lost count of the amount of wrong allocations. Terrible! Hybrid on X10/X11 at lunchtime along with 1416, all the ones Dan mentioned plus a MAX E400 on X21/X22. Jesmond had at least one 52/53 branded B10 floating around on 43/44/45 too

7808 - forgot to mention that one! Knowing Blyth, was probably more than just 7808 on there though...

The spare MAX was obviously on the X10/X11 today too, given that Blyth decided to send a MAX X10/X11 branded decker to Jesmond for Metro Replacements...

So - what's Tommy's excuse for Ashington's allocations today? Tongue

A standard Enviro400 on the X15, and another on the X18, in addition to the above noted.

May I offer a possibility, for the state of the X21/22 anyway?
Ashington allocated 7518 to the X14 early in the morning, two of the Sapphire E400's the failed, so 7491 and a MAX E400 replaced them?
Doesn't explain, of course, why 7518 wasn't switched at some point in the day.

The two standard E400's could have been at the Alnwick outstation if two MAX ones were at Ashington getting attention, one of which may be the one allocated to the X21/22?

Problem is sometimes it can be difficult to switch buses over, it was the same on the 7 on Tuesday when Darlington depot had 1427 on the 7 while a Sapphire Pulsar was on the X1 and the times when they arrived in Darlington were at different times and a non Sapphire bus is still better than no bus at all.

I know non Sapphire/MAX buses on Sapphire/MAX services are not ideal but it's preferable to no bus.

It could be worse, at least most of the wrong types of buses have at least been the same sized buses, meanwhile in Darlington we are having Solos appearing on routes that should be allocated full size single deckers.

Too many solos not enough longer vehicles should be sorted when we get the full allocation of park and ride ones, take longer vehicles off and put solos on the routes they should be on

Hopefully will be fine soon then.

Doesn't help that some of the Darts can only manage towns, thing I don't get is though is when the Darts end up on the 9/10 then Solos/MPDs appear on the 2/11.

The Solos with 31 seats aren't too bad on the 8 or even the 21 most of the time, but it's not as ideal on the 5/5A.

Think I'll be avoiding the 5/5A this next week with the stuff on at the Locomotion this week, I remember when they had things on last year the 5/5A's were all over the place and on one journey we got booted off at Aycliffe Town Centre and had to wait for the 7 to Darlington so the bus could head out of service to Darlington.

Rare working of the year so far on this Sunday 4803 is partaking in some Sunday service on the 1B will leave Darlington at 11:10,13:10,15:10,17:10

I know who allocated that crap, I'm not on speaking terms with the bloke. The last words I heard him say; "A bus is a bus, I can't help breakdowns"

Another one said relating to 7521; "It's a generic bus, it can be used on all services".

I can't give a reason for the wrong allocations, but the reason is the supervisor that was on is a bleep bleep.

Both 1B workings are gas bus operated today.

Still don't get why EcoCitys are used on the 5A/19 on Sundays, I know it was originally to increase the mileage on them but surely they should be getting some miles being hammered on the 21/X21. Seems a waste fitting next stop announcements to the Pulsars then using EcoCitys on Sundays and Solos on an evening.
