More cuts in orther words! Hardly a dup when they go different routes!

EDIT: Doesn't matter, I didn't read it properly. I've always said they should combine the 3 and 553 together, so I am happy to see this happening

(20 Feb 2015, 11:42 am)Jimmi wrote Interesting looking registrations:
75/76 (X75/X76?) will probably be going back to regular routes soon as the landslip works at Calbury should be finished soon. Also heard rumours for a while that the 75/76 were going to become MAX routes and it's looking a bit more likely now. Wonder if the routes will change anymore?
Wonder if Arriva are dropping the X2 number and running it as the X12 through to Newcastle based on this registration? Or could it just be how it's been registered on VOSA?
(20 Feb 2015, 11:46 am)Kuyoyo wrote X75/X76 is looking likely the 75/76 renumbered to suit the MAX upgrade.
X2 renumbered X12 - given the recent clarification of the regulations around split services, it's not surprising to see this one happening.

(20 Feb 2015, 12:34 pm)Michael wrote I didn't know the 75/76 were getting MAX, its a good move, will the services be getting Pulsers, as i'm sure the current 75/76 uses Solo's?
(20 Feb 2015, 12:39 pm)Jimmi wrote At the moment the current allocation seems to be two Solos and a Pulsar, I think the reason why Solos are currently being used is because Darlington is short on full size single deckers and the Pulsars are needed on the 1/5/5A and X1 which are busier than the 75/76 is.

(20 Feb 2015, 2:13 pm)Andreos1 wrote What are the cross Durham links like these days on the X12/X2?
Only done it a few times myself, but from what I have seen, passengers seem to treat it as a separate service - going as far as Durham in either direction.

Does the service really need to be one long one, under two numbers - or could it be worked, so that it is two different services?

(20 Feb 2015, 2:27 pm)Jimmi wrote I think many see it as two different services and get off in Durham but from what I've seen there are some who stay on after Durham especially New College students who jump on at Framwellgate Moor and stay on after Durham Bus Station to the likes of Bowburn and Croxdale.Yeah, thought there may have been a couple - which ties in with what Kuyoyo has said below.
(20 Feb 2015, 2:32 pm)Kuyoyo wrote Arriva did look at spliting them into 2 separate services a few years back - with the then-X1 running up to Framwellgate Moor for the University. In the end, it was decided not to.
The return to a single number throughout with just a change of destination may help

Do you mean the college at Fram?
It was more to do with the marketing/branding perspective as well as improving timings.
Appreciate there are short runs, but wondered if it would be better if they were split completely.
(20 Feb 2015, 2:46 pm)Kuyoyo wrote No, the University free travel extends upto Framwellgate Moor on the X12/X2 so when looking to split it, Arriva choose that as the point (and at that time, the X1 registration was Middlesbrough to Framwellgate Moor).

Would you reckon on extending it all the way through until late on or gradually reduce some of the services to the Angel or Chester?
