They get used on the 418.

It's bad enough when a President makes it's way on there, and almost takes all the trees out in the process.
(16 Mar 2015, 3:06 pm)Andreos1 wrote Nationals used to do it back in the day on the Washington circulars - did the 291/292 go that way?
The turning circle and manoeuvrability might be different like. Some of the Omnis remind me of a cruise ship at times!
(16 Mar 2015, 3:14 pm)aureolin wrote Which turning circle are you thinking of? Are you thinking of the Brady Square terminus?
Can't remember Nationals on the Washington Circulars, but they'd certainly struggle going round Glebe Crescent, giving the parking around the church. As far as I can recall, we've had the Renault 'Minilink' bread vans, the Metroriders, Solos, and then the MPDs on the various forms of the 85/86 over the years.
(16 Mar 2015, 3:18 pm)Andreos1 wrote Nah, the circle it takes to turn a vehicle
Yeah, the 291 and 292 were like the W5/6 - 85/86, but went to/from Heworth. Did a big circular loop of Washington and used Nationals.
The 185 went through the Village and that was generally an Olympian.
(16 Mar 2015, 3:30 pm)aureolin wrote Ahh right my bad.
I believe the 185 (and X85) took a different route though? I seem to recall that they came up Emmerson Terrace, right at Daccs, around the Avenue, Village Lane, Abbey Road, and then back on to Parkway?

(17 Mar 2015, 5:48 pm)Michael wrote I worked out after the Streetlite order for the Red Kite, X66 and Lime and due to Omni's moving else where (seems like Toonlink), they'll only be 24 left... which i would say will be modified in to being DDA and withdrawn next year.
Here it is:
29 B10BLE’s replaced by 29 Streetlites.
Omnicities to Toonlink replaces 8 B10BLE’s (Withdrawn & 5 Eclipses replaces 5 more B10BLE’s)
Unless these other 4 buses Citaro has mentioned are single deckers then take 4 more away...
Numbers maybe wrong and the decker order may help replace rest of the B10BLE's.
(17 Mar 2015, 5:59 pm)Robert wrote Remember, the full Toon Link PVR won't be replaced if the omnicities are transferred from Stanley. There's only enough to replace the B10BLEs and 1 B7RLE.

(17 Mar 2015, 6:07 pm)Robert wrote Then that would be swapping DDA compliant with DDA compliant...pointless. Yes, i know there is 5 B7RLEs and there are 4 omnicities meaning only 1 B10BLE can be withdrawn. For the sake of 1 vehicle, is it really worth all that money swapping two sets of vehicles to withdraw 1?
(17 Mar 2015, 6:11 pm)Tom wrote Well the whole point as I said earlier is to make the Toon Link allocation consistent...
(17 Mar 2015, 6:13 pm)Robert wrote It would still be a high cost to swap the vehicles over, especially as there would only be two real benefits. I'm not saying you're suggestion isnt pointless though.

(17 Mar 2015, 6:17 pm)aureolin wrote Not really? The B7RLEs were last painted about 5 years ago now, so are probably due a fresh coat of paint. I'd imagine there'd be some sense them going into the red corporate livery, so that they can take on more of a 'spare' role in the later days. At the same time, the Red Kite Omni's are most likely going to need a repaint anyway.

I wonder if cadets 8242-6 are leaving Riverside for a new life ????
