Just a daft little thread really...

What would you do if you won big on Euromillions, it is 40m tomorrow night and I have my life planned out just in case...

I would settle my folks mortgage, get them a new car, treat some family and friends, I would also start a football academy for kids in East Durham and fund various youth groups to help disadvantaged young people...

I would also be nice to this group and fund a few buses for NEB to preserve...

Then I would buy myself a couple of old buses, a Leyland Atlantean converted into a house bus, so I could live the dream of driving all over Europe living out of my bus lol Big Grin

I can't see that it's been mentioned on here so apologies if it has, but I have organised a bus to go from Teesside and South Durham to Kirkby Stephen this Sunday.

I had initially hoped to be using the Leyland Leopard that Stagecarriage have recently acquired but unfortunately the gremlins have been and we are now travelling in their Dennis Condor.

Fares are £10 per person. Pick ups are as follows;

Middlesbrough BBC 0830
Stockton High Street South (Stagecoach Office) 0840
Darlington Tubwell Row/Stonebridge 0900
Darlington Bondgate 0905
Shildon Byerley Road Hippodrome 0925
Bishop Auckland Market Place 0940 (guaranteed connection from X21)

There is ample free parking in Bishop Auckland on North Bondgate (next to the former OK depot). We will be leaving Kirkby at approximately 1630. Please contact me to hold a seat by private message on here or email stueybish@yahoo.co.uk

....and now you all know who I am Smile

Hope it is ok to post a thread that is sensitive, and hope people treat it with respect...

I was wondering if many people here are battling some form of mental health problems, I know there are autistic people kicking about here, but has many had to battle depression, I am not being nosy or anything, I just like knowing what makes people tick and I am diagnosed with Bi-Polar and Borderline Personality Disorder and normally very open and not afraid to talk about it...

So anyone else battling what I call cancer of the mind

To help 'clean up' this section of the forum, it was recently decided that we should categorise it into different regional sections.
This allows users to quickly find the thread that they are looking for, without having to trek through pages of threads.

They are categorised in a similar fashion to Traveline's categories, and are as follows:
- Scotland (S)
- Northern Ireland (NI)
- Cumbria & North Lancashire
- North West (NW)
- Yorkshire (Y)
- Cymru/Wales (W)
- West Midlands (WM)
- East Midlands (EM)
- East Anglia (EA)
- South West (SW)
- South East excluding London (SE)
- London (L)

We do have some miscellaneous threads which do not fit into a regional thread, and these have been left as standalone threads.
If in doubt of where to post - use your best judgement, it will probably be correct. If a moderator/administrator thinks it would be best suited elsewhere, they will move it for you.

We all experience it day in day out, so we should really have a thread dedicated to customer service. You'd argue that it's the most difficult, yet important job in a business nowadays.

The thread isn't here to go on a huge rant about operators or other transport related bodies without being able to back it up, but simply to capture both the Good and Bad that we all experience. Smile

I'll start - It should be noted how good Go North East's twitter account has become. Whenever I tweet a quick query (e.g. fares), I generally have a response within 15-20 mins. I've also made use of this facility to report issues with onboard WiFi. It's a complete contrast to my opinion on their Facebook page.

A suggestion to put forward to all of you...

This section of the forum is getting rather cluttered. We've got 93 threads in this section of the forum and most threads aren't used anymore. If people were interested in posting about a particular operator, they may not realise that a thread already exists without having to trek through all 93 threads or using our 'search' facility.

I'd therefore like to suggest that we change the way this section of the forum works... Similar to this thread, I'd like to suggest that we create individual regional threads where content about all operators in that region can be posted.

Where there is more information about a particular city in a region (i.e. London), an individual thread could be set up.

This should be fairly easy to implement, but I'd have to close the section for a few hours to do it. What are your opinions?

If you've liked the "Save the Student" Facebook page, you'll have already seen this posted tonight.

I've just got myself this deal, which is due to be delivered next Wednesday:

Obviously intend on cancelling as soon as I get the first box free, but it may be of interest to some of you to try out - even if it is just for one box (free of charge).

Events seem to be coming together to mark the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, which following events last year and the trial going on, on Merseyside - has been quite poignant.

Without getting into the whole politics and blame game, I wondered if anyone has any memories of the day or the game?

The whole day was a blur/hazy as at the time, there was nothing out of the ordinary or different to any other weekend afternoon.

My memories revolve around the immediate aftermath of the kick off and being aware something wasn't quite right.
Not long after kick off and there was a knock on the door and it was a lad who lived in the same street, but who I wasn't particularly close to - standing there with his Dad.
My Dad came to the door (no idea where my Mam or younger brother was) and with a knowing nod and a wink between the grown ups - myself, the lad and his Dad went off to the field to play football.

What got me (apart from the fact I was off to have a kick about with a lad I wasn't close to, who wasn't bothered about football and his Dad), was that the streets were eerily quiet.
There was nobody about at all either walking their dogs, going about their business, mowing lawns etc or any other kids about as there normally would have been at that time.

Events after getting home were fuzzy too, but obviously I was aware of the immediate fall out over the following days, weeks and months.
