Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - July 2015

RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - July 2015
I hope no one is using the app to plan their journey tomorrow. It'd seem that the temporary timetable for the X12 hasn't been loaded.

In fairness I didn't note 2863 as been repainted. Also on Friday not all of 4801-4808 were Frequenta branded and I speculated a few days earlier that these were going to be Frequenta branded as notably 4809-4811 remain as they are.

Obviously the branding is getting done pretty quickly so it can be a struggle keeping up, on Wednesday I saw 3 or 4 branded Solos and by Friday there was was a few more Solos branded and 5 EcoCity's.

1901 withdrawn

Surprise surprise things haven't quite gone according to plan and Durham have given us 1476 instead of 1470 - it's out on the X12 today (1415 isn't...)

Interesting journey this morning. No real traffic into Durham, but the lanes over Millburngate bridge are extremely tight for buses.

They've also left the North bound stop open on the bridge, with a cone diversion on and off it. It's going to rely on sensible motorists to let the bus out.

Well that was the state of play when I left this morning...
1415 went out on the X12 that 1476 was advertised as doing... 1476 then replaced 1454 on 27s, guess we've put it on the nursery slopes for it's first day Smile

Why not?
RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - July 2015
Surprisingly, on the most part buses through Durham seem to be running well. There is quite a heavy delay on the 64, as the majority of congestion is around Gilesgate roundabout.

No sign of regulation yet like...

From what our drivers were saying this morning was really quiet and getting into Durham was no bother through New Elvet

I was on 1443 this morning between 7 and half past. There were 3 others on when I got on, and only another two picked up along the way. Despite being infront of the 57.

Never known it that quiet!

(12 Jul 2015, 1:25 pm)Kuyoyo wrote I think the 35 isn't frequent enough for 'Frequenta'. Notice so far it's only on services every 10 minutes or better for most of the day or on the core sections of the routes - even the routes set for launch later in the year. Not sure if there are many routes north of the Tyne that would fit that criteria that aren't already branded in some way.

The 35/35a really needs a 10 minute frequency, all the 35s that I've used have been filled by Ashington and standing from Pegswood to Morpeth.

Buses listed as 'Under Repair' are typically those off the road for a long period of time, according to Arriva's official fleet allocation.

I've a number of amendments to make to the fleet lists later tonight, but I won't be getting back home until 2100ish.

RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - July 2015
4812 has had a replacement window fitted on the nearside and is hence missing a bit of branding - various leaves and the word "Sunderland" iirc.

I can't recall ever being, or seeing, a 35 that busy, most I've been on are probably about three quarters full seat wise, half if you include standing space.

I am thinking of doing Moorsbus on Sunday, all being well [emoji2]

Attention Pass holders - please help us get our full rebate funds by re-swiping your pass if you stay on the bus where our route numbers change, that is at Guisborough, Danby, Stokesley, Northallerton and Helmlsey. The rebate helps to pay for 2016 services. The drivers know about this too, and there should be signs up on each bus soon. THANKS!

The times still haven't been updated in the live map for the X12. My morning journey was showing 9 early at some points, when it was infact slightly late.

I've sent a screenshot in to Arriva, to see how long it takes to click on... Smile

As expected, customer services decided to play judge, jury and executioner. Pointing out to me that that it's not on and they'll make the depot aware... Undecided

I know that on the Arriva App, that theres a refresh button and theres a refresh with latest time button, if you just keep pressing the refresh button only then the timing of bus can still be displayed up to over and hour late, but if you press the refresh with latest time then it will show in real time. On the App I can show all the Peterlee bus services running over an hour late as I have not refresh the App with the latest time.

Wonder why they've stopped the Dalesbus changing number along the route this year?

Wonder if it's because Arriva realised they don't have to have different service numbers for split services like the X12/X2 was.

Think the Dalesbus registrations are still split at points along the route just all of them are now the 830 from Middlesbrough - Ingleton. May be wrong on that.

Yeah 1522 has transferred to Darlington depot for the time being, do Durham get it back once the bridge has finished?

So does that mean that the local authority gets charged five times for every journey, despite it effectively being a through-fare?  Undecided

I think it was down to getting confirmation from the legal teams etc that it could be done... Hence we can now split all services while keeping the same service number.
Other operators have done it for years but Arriva didn't
