Ongoing withdrawals certainly make the X25, 28 and 21 spares somewhat interesting...

I honestly thought the 128 came back this year, just pleased I didn't tell two people heading to Beamish Museum from Durham Bus Station a few Saturdays back about the 128, otherwise they will have been annoyed when they found out that this bus service doesn't exist (at least anymore).

No 128 this year, mind I have a feeling that it mainly just took people to Beamish in the morning and back in the afternoon, then the rest of the day probably just took local passengers off other GNE services like the 16/16A.

706 is parked up at the front of the depot, it has been moved at some point as it was on the opposite side when i passed this morning.

4927 still has the old logo on the front - probably not worth replacing it with it only having a couple of months left.

5402's next stop announcements are not working either - just a plain black screen with no audio. I did manage to get a short video to go with it so I'll go and send that off to the people necessary since I have no idea why I posted that here!
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2017
Are there any plans in the pipeline for services carrying the new corporate livery to gain sub-branding like the 49 has?

Think that branding would be sufficient for 88/88A when the versas cone up for either replacement or repaint.

I was thinking the same for the likes of the 9/61 and services with an irrelevant brand like the 11/97.

Thanks.

At the moment, the announcements aren't (or shouldn't be) working on 5399, 5400, 5402, 5404 and 5406. This is because they have received an updated media file which has yet to be route-tested before being publicly launched, and also fitted with a cable which allows remote access to the announcements on the bus (over the passenger Wi-Fi) , removing the need for manual updates on the bus itself.

The testing of the new announcements is in the pipeline early next month all being well, and was planned to coincide with the launch of new vehicles on Black Cats 2/2A and 39 and impending service changes to the indiGo network at Washington, so that the audio announcements are consistent on the shared corridors of these routes.

Service 61 will be branded for Black Cats, when all of the new Wright Streetlites enter service at Deptford on services 2/2A and 39. A news story will be going out about this, and the significant investment of over £3m in new vehicles for Sunderland, on Go North East's website in the coming days.

As of today, Go North East will accept contactless payments on its Quaylink Q3 service. If the pilot is successful, it is planned to be rolled out fleet-wide early next month, presumably in line with Catch the Bus Week.

Pencilled in to spend a week on each service, so should move onto the 42 on Saturday.

5472 and 5475 have arrived, that now means 9 have arrived out of the batch of 18, both will be branded tomorrow and i wouldn't be surprised if they enter service after.

Has it been confirmed where the Versa's are going from 2/2A?

With seven now having entered service, things are starting to move around now.

The entry into service of the first four Streetlites at Deptford has led to no withdrawals (replacements for 564, 574 and 4936, as well as providing an extra bus following service changes on 21st May which resulted in extra PVR for service 593/8N). When service X36 is withdrawn next month, the two Scania L94s temporarily displaced will replace the buses they were planned to replace originally. Deptford's fleet balance has therefore been restored to the correct number of allocated vehicles.

The fifth Streetlite entering service has led to the transfer of 8306 to Riverside. This is a replacement for 4926 which was withdrawn earlier this month having sustained accident damage as mentioned on this forum previously.

A further two Optare Versas will transfer from Deptford to Riverside imminently, as replacements for 4931 and 8266, which have both been withdrawn too. This will restore fleet balance at Riverside, as above with Deptford. These will both undergo repaint into the company's fleet livery, and will eventually be joined by 8309 (which will also be repainted), to form the PVR of 4, for services 67/69.

Thanks Dan, i feel sorry for those on the 67/69 then........ Tongue, seems right all the remaining Versa's at Deptford will go to Riverside. (if i read that right, if not will 8326-28 be split between Chester and Riverside as spares)

What will happen to the 9 allocation, will it remain a mixed allocation after all the Streetlites enter service?, as it was previously said Hexham should be gaining the 6 Citaro's which we're cascaded from the 36.

Hopefully it gains 2 Citaro's for a full allocation, along with another spare.

If not Citaro's then Scanias, hopefully it will gain "Black Cats" branding, meaning all of Deptford's services will branded at end of July.

On the fleet list, 564 and 574 is still down at Deptford.

Well, 2 were, the rest were not due until August anyway.  Remember Wrights close the factory for a fortnight for the summer holidays.

Spotted this on 8266 while looking through the news:

The Metrocentre Shuttle S1 service is due to be withdrawn from Sunday 23rd July and replaced by an extended X66 service on a lower frequency.

Wonder if the loop around the Metrocentre will be every 20 minutes?, every 30 minutes doesn't seem right for it.

(just the bold part, we know the S1 is getting withdrawn)
