A quick look at the leaderboard reveals those near the top, have in excess of 60(!) points!

Not doing well in the mini-league I'm in (Page Three Girls), but I'm not doing bad in the NEB one Big Grin

Don't see why not...But don't the Sun charge to enter there Premier League Dream Team, just about every paper has a Fantasy Football Game

Can't see why not.
Never used this particular newspaper's fantasy football before. Usually use the FA Premier League one, which is good.

At school, we had our own league and paid something daft like 5p per week subs and 2p for each transfer - you weren't allowed the same player as anyone else though. The winner got a big proportion of the total amount, with 2nd and 3rd place getting a share too.

We just agreed on the rules, points etc and away we went.
Every Friday, each member would submit their team from their squad, into a book we nicked from maths.

During FA Cup weekends, we played cup games on a knockout basis.

It was great and whoever won, felt like a millionaire after getting a years worth of 5p's off each lad in the class Big Grin

How hard would it be to create and build an NEB Fantasy Football Game, with our own scoring system and rules...

I don't fancy creating it, but with the brain and intelligence that populates this wonderful message board, someone amongst us must enjoy messing about creating things Big Grin

Not hard at all.
We did it at school in the days before the internet changed everything.

Even in the last World Cup, I set one up on Excel for a few friends and family.

Got an idea for one already

Pick a Premier League Team, they will be your team all season and there results score for you e.g. I pick Sunderland and there results will add to my points tally 3/win 1/draw 0/loss, with a bonus point for a win of 4 clear goals or more

Pick 18 players with a limit the same as the Sun Dream Team Values

Scoring

5 points a goal, 5 point bonus for a Hat-trick
3 points for an assist
3 points if your goalie keeps a clean sheet
1 point for each player who was on the winning team
-1 bonus point if your player has a rating of 8 or more (based on The Sun Dream Team Rating)
-1 Point if your goalie concedes
-3 points if your goalie concedes 3 or more
-3 points for a yellow card
-5 points for a red card...

Probably loads I have missed off, but it just ran through my mind quite quickly Big Grin

Might be a bit too much to do with all the spread sheets and all, but if not, I'll still do a FA for us - I'm enjoying this one!

There's one problem from a legal perspective. The Football Data.Co (to my understanding) still prevents you from listing fixtures. For this reason I'd recommend people just setup either fantasy leagues or a predictions league on premierleague.com next season? I'm happy to do this as an alternative?

What a set a bastards they are, the price to print football results is extortionate, I had my own website about 11-12 years ago and decided to put football fixtures for all the North East team in the Premier League and Football League, someone laid me in to Football Data Co, as I received a nice email saying they had been made aware I was publishing fixtures, they went on to demand 1000's out of me to keep the fixtures up or take the fixtures down, in the end I just told them to fuck off and closed the site...was a nice little site as well, nothing complicated and at it's peak was getting about 5,000 hits a month...

There nothing more than a bunch of robbers and conmen

As easy as it is creating your own, it is pointless reinventing the wheel, when there are perfectly good sites such as the Premier League one.

I have only created them due to either the internet not existing or if people didn't have access to a computer.

Not sure, will be a tough game tonight. - I was lucky have all of those French players in defence, earned 18 points as a result of them getting a clean sheet (the only one so far!)

Haven't looked at once Yet as I forgot about it, it's only the World Cup so not to bothered about that Fantasy League, I'll dominate the Premier League one if we end up doing it.
