Why didn't Gateshead Central put anything on their website to say that Go North East are now operating the Washington locals, when they chucked their contracts in a year or so ago? Or put any timetables on their website, for that matter.

Of course it can be done, and it's another example of not doing what is best for the customer, but it seems that we judge some by higher standards than others.
