It'd take marginally less time for the 8 to divert off and serve The Avenue, Village Lane and Abbey Road, than it did doing the back and forth down to Brady Square. You'd only be omitting two stops in the process, which are served by the 4.

Barmston Ct is the anomaly. It's incredibly difficult to serve without going back on yourself to do so, unless it acts as a terminus. It's likely that which will keep a secured 82/82A/83 in place.

Personally, I don't understand why the 8 does the express section along the A1231 nowadays, now it travels all the way down to Teal Farm it's just doubling back on it self and gaining nothing in the purpose.

Maybe could have a scope for swapping the 8 and 50 around from Rickleton to Washington Galleries, then having the 8 doing something like - https://www.google.com/maps/place/Barmst...?entry=ttu - it's pretty much just the 81 route on a Sunday anyway.

It's not really adding any extra and there's no real lost links considering the 2A does most the 8 route being swapped at the bottom end of Washington anyway. It would give the 50 a quicker route, or at least feel quicker not going round in circles who will likely have more long distance punters.
