It's cost related I'm sure, noticed someone at Arriva Yorkshire was talking about it. Supposedly the battery needs replacing every 7-10 years and they need replacing again and they're £30k a shot for a Volvo vehicle (unsure on the ADL).
It's why Arriva Yorkshire have withdrawn all the 13 plates there as no-one is spending that on a 12 year old bus.
