Some further details:
- Cards will be able to be topped up instantly on the new PopCentral website.
- You can have access to multiple cards on PopCentral (unlike the current system where only one can be linked).
- The card automatically calculates the daily fares across buses*, trains**, Shields Ferry and Metro.
* - Regionwide buses (including Northumberland, County Durham and Tyne and Wear.
** - Northumberland Line only.

Hard disagree, phones are unreliable, a card will only fail you if you lose it or snap it in half.
