I'm not sure if 6942 had been officially withdrawn, but it hasn't been used at all this week.
RE: Go North East: Withdrawn Vehicles & Fleet Disposals
6942 left Deptford around 30 minutes ago along with 6913 (unsure where 6913 is based but assuming 6942 is going to that depot).

Also removed from Deptford by Alpha (Unknown reason) in 5290 again within the past half hour.

6942 has been mothballed at Consett (where 6913 is based).

That's a shame.
RE: Go North East: Withdrawn Vehicles & Fleet Disposals
Has solo 646 been withdrawn permanently? I asked a good 4-5 months back and I believe it was due a new engine which was imminent. It seems to have disappeared from Consett now.

It was initially just on loan. Riverside had received a replacement bus to allow it to be displaced. Was one that had just been checked, no defects and was good to go.

Midland Classic liked it so much they wanted to keep it.

I was believing that until you said they liked a Versa...  Big Grin

8805 is out of use for the time being awaiting replacement windows after having 3 smashed on the nearside. Not sure if it was a result of it clipping something or some charva throwing stones at it. But it's a section of 3 in a row so likely as a result of an altercation with a stationary object.

I'd be interested to know how much GNE 'wasted' on the coaches, IIRC they made quite a few modifications to them which is why they were delayed in the first place
RE: Go North East: Withdrawn Vehicles & Fleet Disposals
What was the arrangements for wheelchairs etc on them (and the Caetanos)? I didn't ride them but my parents did and certainly bought the excuse they put in the service changes about concerns re accessibility.
RE: Go North East: Withdrawn Vehicles & Fleet Disposals
No ticket machine or O-Disc either.

Also to add, this along with 637 and 639 arrived in 2012 when GNE won the 353 contract. They are also slightly different in being the only M900 (previous arrivals were M880s and ones after were M9250.)

Quite possibly being on a long term lease for 10 years and due to expire, though I'm not sure as GNE claim to own their vehicles. But with these coming into the fleet specifically for the 353 contract, I don't know.

637 and 638 have transferred to Go North West - the former has already left and is currently at Read Commercials for repaint, the latter will leave this Saturday.

650 has transferred from Deptford to Percy Main to replace one, and 634 (float/reserve at Percy Main) is now in full fleet capacity at Percy Main to replace the other.

I think only 4 out of the 12-15 are inservice. Real shame to upgrade them and not use them,

They should be kept into use till atleast 2023.
RE: Go North East: Withdrawn Vehicles & Fleet Disposals
The first two Solo SRs have now left the @gonortheast fleet, arriving @readcommercials
today to receive some TLC prior to onward transfer to our friends @gnwbus for the new 90 service starting on 25 April. They’ll be converted to Euro 6 before entering service.

Looks like some of the younger Solo's from Percy Main will be retained once the contracts change.
