Is the Enviro 200 Euro 6 on sale/being ordered yet. Looks a leap forward from current Euro 5 design:

It's an e200 mmc euro5/6 is just the engine emissions rating. Stagecoach have ordered some e200 mmc but most likely for gold standard services elsewhere hope this helps

(08 Apr 2015, 7:04 pm)markydh wrote Newcastle depots make far the biggest profits of the North East division. One of those depots hasn't had a single new bus since early 2009 with many of it's core routes suffering from regular overcrowding with buses that were purchased 12 years ago at a time when the North East refused to even contemplate procuring double deck vehicles (an outlook all three main operators had with all three changing their minds a few years later). Kuyoyo, if you are referring to QCS proposals then sorry, they can't be blamed. Sunderland has had it's fleet invested in very heavily in the last couple of years. South Shields is about to have 19 new buses bequeathed. All are subject to the same proposals. And a significant upgrade in the Newcastle depots would allow midlife E400s to upgrade routes elsewhere that wouldn't necessarily justify new double decks but would nevetheless provide significant capacity upgrades (I'm thinking of the E services and those Teesside routes that a few forum members periodically suggest absolutely need deckers). As it is, I know the city council are very seriously considering imposing air quality minimum standards in the City centre. Aging Euro 3 and even Euro 4 buses wouldn't pass.

Very nice.

Personally I would much rather Stockton had got ex Newcastle deckers for the 36/37/38 rather than new single deckers, and Newcastle could have got new doubles.

(08 Apr 2015, 7:34 am)Kuyoyo wrote With the Stagecoach Fleetbook due to arrive with people imminently, I can now reveal this year's North East Order:

Stockton depot are due another 17 ADL E300s - this time for services 52/58/35 (allowing the 7 64-reg examples presently used on the 52/35 to be used elsewhere) and services 59/61. At present, it is understand they will NOT be WiFi fitted.
South Shields depot are due to take 19 Euro5 ADL E200s. These will be WiFi enabled (same as 37143/4)

Stockton's 17 should therefore see the withdrawal of the remaining 12 non-DDA MANs in active service at the depot as well as releasing 5 of the DDA MANs into a reserve capacity to replace the non-DDA MANs in that role.

As posted in the main order thread, Stockton will be taking 27238-27254 and South Shields 37301-37319.

Nightmare of a journey on the e2. 3 sets of temporary traffic lights and noisy teens on bus from tesco roker to lizard lane. Also moved seat as this lad stunk and then he moved behind me. I nearly threw up. I was going to bring van wish I did now!
RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2015
South Shields ADL E300 27733 (NK11 BFZ) sounded awful this morning. It has the same intermittent engine knocking/rattling that 27739 once had, and also has a really bad idle.

In other news, a member of the "Stagecoach Enthusiasts" Facebook Page has said there are rumours that Volvo Olympians 16833 and 16839 will be disposed of at the end of the Football Season - which will be in May.

Contract ends then and isn't being taken up again ATM. Another operator has been approached to operate it from next season, unfortunately they have not made a public statement yet so I cant say who it is.

This a shame, Stagecoach have done it for years, oh well hopefully its a local company.

Can't see it being GNE as they run the Newcastle United one and Arriva would do a lot of dead mileage.

Do they disassemble these vehicles where they are currently located, or do they tow them to a scrapyard and trash them?

What components do they save for further use?

Information from SNE Twitter Page:

Sun Ops due to the road works on whitburn road we have a shuttle bus providing access to morrisons and southbents.

Sun Ops this should enable the 18/19 service to remain on time sorry for any inconvenience.

I'd assume that the Olympians would go as well. Also some of the the S-BWC Tridents.

You assume wrong - as the deckers are for schools not front line service as per 27238-54!

The MAN ALX300s and ADL E300s did struggle getting around Lowry Road in my opinion - especially due to the tight corners and with all of the traffic being diverted around there as well! I bet it will be even worse when the "E" buses try going through Princes Avenue tomorrow.
RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2015
On Sunday police cones were down Princes Ave. Only way they could get down there - as I struggle in my van!

The bus struggled around the roundabout this evening - of the fence and signs were moved back a tad it would prob help...

Also this afternoon two cars played dogems and stopped to exchange details. Of course 1 pulled up on kerb... one didn't! It caused havoc!

Temporary relocation of bus stop in Holmeside

Renewal of a manhole cover.

Last Updated: 22 April 2015 1:31 PM

Sunderland City Council have advised that works to renew a manhole cover will take place on Holmeside on Sunday morning, 26th April 2015.

The works will start at 08:00 and are expected to be finished by lunchtime and during this time, buses will be unable to access bus stop 24S24. This is the westbound stop near Mason Amusements (Services 2/2A, 5/5A, 16, 39, 136).

All displaced services will use the bus stop prior to this one (24S40) while the works are in progress.
