Arriva in Whitby
Hello All,

I was looking at the current vehicle allocation at the Whitby depot of Arriva North East and was trying to establish which routes each vehicle types are normally allocated to.

I assume the following;

Darts 1103/1104/1105  work the local's 94/95 services

Streetlite's 1560-1562  work the X4/4 services

Dart 1759 on the local Sainsbury's contract

Solo's 2827/2828 and Volvo B7TL on the P1/P2 Park & Ride services

B9TL's 7401-7406 0n the X93

However, can anyone identify what service Temsa 4701 is used on ?

Thanks in advance Wink

One of the ALX200s works the 94/95 - 2827 is booked to work the other. Most of the time, at least 1 of the 3 ALX200s are actually down at Redcar.

2828 works the P1, 7489 works the P2 and a full size single decker works the school holiday turns on the P2 as well as a Scarborough-Whitby Summer timetable trip on the X93 on a morning prior to working onto the Park & Ride.

Whitby could have any three of the Redcar/Whitby Streetlites at any one time. One that starts at Redcar finishes at Whitby each day and vice versa. And 4701 no more likely than any of the other Temsas to be there, similarly with 1101-3 - they just pick arbitrary numbers to show on the allocation list. If 4701's not at Whitby it could be on any of Redcar's services.

All that makes sense, I was forgetting that 2827 is in Arriva livery for normal workings so would not be on the Park & Ride. I assume the 94 is PVR1 and the 95 is PVR2 looking at the timetable.

You say the use of a full size single deck on the X93 and then onto the P&R in summer so I assume then that this is why 4701 is allocated to Whitby at the moment?

Are there any school contracts operated here?

This makes sense too because looking at the X4/4 timetable it would have to be the case that one each of the streetlites would have to finish at the opposite end of the route each day.

I assume that the regular change of vehicles with Redcar (i.e 1101-1103, 4701) is for servicing purposes?

Yup buses are swapped for inspections and servicing as required.
The town services interwork with a PVR of 2

94/95 interwork with a PVR of 2. 2827 is still in the White base livery used for the Park & Ride last year. The two Solos plus the B9TLs are the only constant vehicles allocated to Whitby.
