You really think me and Davie would put buses in all the wrong routes.
Against the Anti-Lee Club.

Surely if it was so easy to put the correct branded buses on the correct route without dropping runs etc. then surely we wouldn't be seeing odd workings so frequently.

I mean, there are times when the allocations do seem a bit stupid (there was a dicussion a few weeks ago about 7518 being allocated to services X21/X22 on a Sunday when there would have been plenty of branded vehicles in the depot).

Maybe somebody more experienced in that sort of stuff can comment on how and why buses are allocated wrongly?

The quoted post above might answer that. It all depends how things are parked. In the case of 7518 being out on a Sunday instead of a branded example, it could be that 7518 was parked at the front of the Sapphire line and so was the easiest to get out.

Well there we go, proof that it isn't all about allocating a bus to the wrong route for the sheer hell of it. Think this model should only be used with breakdowns though but still, it should help people understand why buses being allocated to the wrong routes rather than being quick to criticise the company for doing so.

On purpose, no. As a last resort, yes. Basically what normal allocators do.
RE: Stagecoach North East: Rare & Odd Workings - February 2016
I dread to think how the people who are in charge of doing allocations for the relevant operators would feel if they read this forum some days (today especially) with some people absolutely slating their allocating skills some days.

27181 must have been a changeover as on morning the 12s were 24101/6, 27157/8/60/3/5/76.

27254 replaced a defective 24105.

I think 181 replaced 176 as I spotted one of them when got into Boro at 1340 yesterday.
