The subject of E.U. rules in relation to drivers hours after Brexit has concerned me for a while now. What is going to happen when the day comes. Will the government keep the existing E.U. Arules, or will they revert to domestic rules. One thing is for certain though - tachographs will remain. Legislation will have to be made for Brexit day in relation to drivers hours, but remember, the rules may be exactly the same as E.U. rules are now, only with a different legislative authority.

I imagine it will depend on which terms are carried forward following negotiations.
Some legislation will be continued and adopted - that I am sure of. Pretty certain others will fall by the wayside.

I agree. If the 50km (31 mile) rule is abolished for normal bus services, it will make life a lot easier for Go North East when allocating duties for the X9/X10.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2016
I doubt the rule will change though, can see it staying in place, its all about health and safety.

This is a rule? I've been on omnidecks on the 6 which have hit 50-60/60 on the country national routes.
I misunderstood what you meant. Yes I agree.

Been here since Friday to my knowledge. Was allocated to the 28/A on Saturday before incurring a fault and being removed from service. 5401 replaced I believe.

With the upcoming depot change to the 9, i thought the Scania's might of stopped at Deptford.

What will be allocated to the 9 once it moves to Deptford?

What would we allocate to it though ?

No idea, i would imagine Scania's but then Deptford have just lost 2, don't think any new buses will be arriving before November - like the Streetlite etc, don't see them downgrading the size of the bus to a MPD/Solo.

Hopefully new buses for the 9.

I'd say vykings but more chance of something different

Versas? I've heard that Go North East are due four Streetlites before Christmas, of course this is speculation so I wouldn't read too much into it, however, if it is true my prediction is that these four vehicles get allocated to service 61 along with one of 5438 or 5439 (please correct me if I'm incorrect, however I belive service 61 has an allocation of five vehicles) thus could mean four Versas could be allocated to service 9.

Maybe if they are coming the Streetlites could be for the 19? Then releasing the 5 B7RLEs to Deptford for the 9 along with Solars or whatever else is allocated by Deptford.

5 Versas wouldn't be enough for the 9?

For the North Shields journeys there would be enough (PVR 4). I imagine Deptford would continue to allocate the Vykings to the short 9s as they do now.

The 9 PVR is 7 though.

If the 61 does get Streetlites, i hope they don't brand one of 5438 or 5439, that means they'll be only 1 spare Streetlite for 36 of them (including the 60).... means more likely a Scania will appear on all those services..

Edit: hopefully, it won't be a mixed allocation!

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2016
Would they not just make it every 15 mins to North Shields ? Pointless having both short and long runs make it into 1

Good idea there.

My thinking was they continue to operate the shorter runs with the Ex London Volvos, and use Versas for the longer runs.

That was my thinking too, given that the short 9s interwork with scholars.
