To keep it the same allocation, allowing them to brand it (if rumours are true and they'll get the red scania's instead of the 39), the scholar services might change - so they don't interwork with the 9.

If some more Omicities were freed up, you could have Omnicites and Omnideckers working together...they could be branded as well!
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2016
On an OmniDekka on a 6. Starting to like these now. Interior could do with a refurb and the suspension on 6126 is nice and bouncy.

The NSA on the TEN aren't working. Just seen some old woman complain because she missed her stop.

It's secured by Nexus from Jarrow-North Shields so that tells you something about the passenger numbers. Definitely don't think it justifies every 15 minutes Jarrow-North Shields.

Well probables not get them at Sunderland anyway, they'll probables go to a depot with Omnicities so they'll stay together and its easier for repairs etc or as Dan calls it "Depot standardization".

You would think the word 'Omnicity' is the new leprosy, given the comments made here [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]

You sure about that? Every single journey secured?

Yes - every journey between Jarrow and North Shields is secured by Nexus.

Any changes to the frequency on this service would be down to Nexus - whether that be an increase or decrease.

Having been in use as a Staff Shuttle van for the past week or two, 554 has now been withdrawn from service at Riverside and is at Saltmeadows Road. Together with 5166 and 8263, this vehicle will be collected by Hopdeals Group, Goole, tomorrow. This company acts as a broker, and will attempt to sell this vehicle and others of its type on for further use.

Volvo B7TL 6040 has been sold for scrap to Trevor Wigley.

All four former Thames Travel Solos have now been repainted and will be branded later this week. 701 and 703 were cleaned internally this morning and have also had Hanover LED destinations fitted.

6055 is the latest Volvo B9TL to be repainted red, while 628 is the latest Sunderland Connect to arrive at Saltmeadows Road for repaint. Unlike the three Hybrids, 628 will be repainted into Go North East's corporate livery, due to the loss of the daytime 701 contract.

Three Scania OmniDekkas were collected by Go North East on Sunday. These have been numbered in the fleet as follows:
- 6141 (YN04 GJY)
- 6142 (YN04 GJZ)
- 6144 (YN05 GZL)

MPD 565 has been withdrawn from service at Deptford and is now at Saltmeadows Road - it will be sold for scrap. MPD 549 is therefore no longer in a float/reserve capacity.

To clarify the movements with Scania L94s - 5215 transferred to Chester-le-Street from Deptford last week ahead of the impending PVR reduction on service 20 (as a result of the end of the roadworks in Durham). This has allowed 4929 to transfer to Riverside. A Volvo B10BLE will be withdrawn as a consequence, though this has not yet taken place. 4965 has not yet transferred to Chester-le-Street, but it has been released from Deptford due to a reduction in spare vehicles. No vehicle will be withdrawn at Chester-le-Street as a consequence, due to a PVR increase here.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2016
What has caused Chester to have a PVR increase?

Regarding the 9, couldn't some buses be transferred with the route from Percy Main to Deptford?
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2016
With 628 going in to "Go North East" livery, will it be allocated to the 38?, as that only has a PVR of 1.

Or will Deptford lose it?

Doubt it will be leaving Deptford. They won't have a spare Solo for the 700 (without nicking one from the 33) if it does head off somewhere else.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2016
4933 drove around the metrocentre a few times. Driven by an engineer with NIS on the front.

Anyone know who owns the party bus at the front of the Riverside depot?

Possibly the North Road work in Durham that are starting soon.

4900 on the 69 today. That in itself isn't noteworthy, but more importantly I've finally figured that it sounds like a normal renown - with a slide whistle attached.
It's taken me a long time to figure out what exactly the noise is like, but what else could it be [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]

628 will remain at Deptford. The loss of the daytime 701 contract allowed this vehicle to replace 562 in the fleet at Deptford, which is retained as float/reserve.

Worth noting that 628 is the first vehicle in the fleet to be repainted into Go North East's new corporate livery - not plain red as per previous repaints.

Any photos? I hardly go near depotford's operations. Cannot picture the description in my head.

Will the blue be painted on or will it be a vinyl (to make repainting the vehicles easier)? If it was a vinyl, it would also allow them to roll it out to the rest of the fleet quicker, especially the vehicles which have been repainted recently. Obviously if it will cost too much to do this then fair enough but it was just a thought I decided to put forward on the forum.

On another note, 3943 is still managing to avoid gaining the new Red Arrows livery. Possible change of plan?

The blue will be painted.

All vehicles which currently carry Go North East's red corporate livery will need to go to Saltmeadows Road for repaint again - only the rear section of the bus will be painted again unless there is panel damage to the red ones (and in which case these panels will be repainted too). It should take no more than a day to prepare and paint each vehicle which has already been repainted recently.

As for 3943 - the priority this week is branding the former Thames Travel Solos. It should receive "Red Arrows" branding at some point next week, if not sooner, dependent on other jobs.

Was 628 not owned by Sunderland Council or nexus or was it just the diesel hybrid one?

Also before the extra 701 contract started was 628 dedicated spare?

628 is the diesel Solo SR and owned by Go North East.

Yes, it was the dedicated spare prior to the 701 contract starting, and will become the dedicated spare again. As it will carry Go North East's corporate livery, it means that it can also be used on other minibus services at Deptford.

So the new GNE livery is Blue?

Seems a drastic change from red haha

The front will be red as normal and the rear will be blue. A better description can be found on 628s latest news item.
