You never know. I have a slight suspicion that they are going to use 3888 and 3889, and then use 3887 for service 434.

I don't know, service V1 probably takes more passengers than 327, maybe we should buy new double deckers for that also, haha. But on a serious note, I don't see what would deem it needing investment beyond luggage ammendments (if they are even required). Somebody else noted the question of why you'd send up vehicles well into their second decade of service and spend money to make them worth using. Stanley's trident presidents are certainly great still, but they're rusting away on the inside and need a lot of TLC to be allocated in my opinion.
Who knows.

How on earth did you come to this expensive conclusion

DFDS might make a request to Go North East to as them to invest in four Streetdecks due to them being more fuel efficient than the Tridents currently allocated.

What for a few runs each day   Huh can't see that happening like

(29 Sep 2016, 5:33 am)Dan wrote The "BUS FULL" destination displays were only ever intended to be used for the Great North Run Baggage Buses. They were not designed to be used in public service.

Whilst potentially a good idea - what happens if there's a red bus on service 21 (ie the ones you see on such a regular basis!) which is full? If the bus is on a shared corridor, how do waiting passengers know that the bus which was full was actually a 21 which was full?

If ever those displays were resurrected, it would have to be done on a route-specific basis: a bus full display which showed the route number for that service too.

It's a fair point. I guess you could display 21 FULL or similar. It happens every Newcastle home game, Christmas time and further South, around Gala etc.

I guess you could say it's obvious the bus is full. It'd actually be handy if on the Football Specials that they only operate from Eldon non stop to Gateshead as it's what hey do in effect.

Or potentially, run one of the additional runs from High Level out to make sure lots of Gateshead passengers aren't losing out

One from NS to Newcastle, two from Newcastle to NS.
Every day.

Thank you for that. I thought with there being four vehicles allocated that there may have been more journeys.

It's always confused me. Lately I've only seen one of two percy main red B9s operate it. No idea why they have 4 buses for it, sure someone will.

It's certainly got me baffled!

Extra capacity which suggests to me that the 327 has a lot more passengers than the V1!

That's fair comment. But I feel that GNE would only consider this if they received considerable financial contribution from DFDS

Depends how many people are using the Ferry - some days only need one or two buses, some days can need as many as eight!

Oh wow! The 327 isn't a service I pay much attention to, so I don't know how many people use it etc, hence my suggestion of Streetdecks. Very stupid idea looking back through these comments.

Yep with it all being a contract work. Im sure ive heard drivers say they are supposed to be new buses every 4-5 years. The tridents have passed it now. They go slow with nobody on letalone with full loads
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2016
On a side note, the DFDS ferry holds 1325 people though rarely to capacity. I know they carry quite heavy loads for Newcastle games as they sell tickets and transfers for Newcastle games to mainland European fans.

the standard of vehicle at the Amsterdam end is considerably nicer

628 is now back at Deptford, fully repainted.

I understand the livery isn't 100% complete, and further vinyls will follow at a later date.

701, 703 and 704 were all branded yesterday.
702 was branded today.

701 and 703 are now at Washington, but won't be entering service until next week.
