1104 was amongst the ones I saw last week being towed north on the Tees Flyover.

When is Arriva going to alter the branding on the eco's on the X21?

I've noticed that a lot of buses seem to be missing branding, or haven't had it altered, recently.

It was mentioned that the X21/X22 services were both going to be branded as MAX, wasn't it? I assumed this was the reason for the EcoCitys not losing the branding for the old 21 service, and parts of missing branding not being replaced. I thought that there was possibly a plan in the works for the vehicle allocation on the 22/23/24, as a lot of these have missing branding too.
RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2017
Odd that they put an all over ad on the back of a Frequenta 63 as well (1429). Couldn't they have done a Temsa?

Yea, something was mentioned that service X21/X22 be going max sometime this year, but don't know the date, was hoping that the 23 would be going sapphire so the 22/23/24 could interwork at the destination, Shame that the north east won't be getting the revised brand of the max and sapphire.

They will be. Vehicles from now on will be delivered in the new livery, however the new 'brands' don't launch until next year.

Such a shame that the 'intermediate' brands appear to have been dropped from the plan and just Sapphire survives now.

I'm really glad that this is only going to last a couple of years at the most - the new scheme being introduced couldn't come quick enough and, hopefully, they can do a decent job of it.

That looks quite poor. Normally they have a MAX logo above the door or sometimes where the advert board is. The red coverings on the windows and route details / frequency right at the back look out of place. It really is annoying to see the inconsistency across the MAX brand.

Is the north east marketing done down south or is it just customer services that's down south?

Just a very quick mock-up of what the livery could have looked like if they didn't ruin it. I've used the correct font for the branding too... and not the cheapo font they use now.

I gather this will be the final MAX livery to be developed. Such a shame it is being dropped in favour of the basic new livery, which will appear shortly.

No MAX for the X21/22?

There is the MAX logo on the other side of it though

Hasn't that always been the case really though? Seems like most of the MAX branded buses have been designed to accommodate advertising boards (Darlington Omnicity's and X93 don't seem to have any though), single deckers only tend to have them on the nearside now owing to the positioning of the emergency exit door on the drivers side, meaning it's normally just a large MAX logo on this side.

Wonder why they haven't found a way to put advert boards on the nearside of Temsas?

Does anybody know if we are getting new buses in the north east this year, and what new branding I heard a rumour of sapphires changing to be called premiums, is that it?

Ashington are due some Enviro 400s for the X21/22 to displace some of the current allocation to the 43/44/45. (See here)

I believe Sapphire is still continuing currently, albeit in the new livery, with the new branding being launched next year.

Someone is going to have a fun time restitching the new logo onto the top of the seats when the new brand is released!

Think the plan is still for the Optare Tempo's coming from Arriva Yorkshire will go on the 64 whilst the E200's will go on the 56/57/57A/86 circuit.

Imagine they'll probably just replace the front of each headrest, which will take nowhere near as long!

I think something was mentioned somewhere about those Tempos finally coming up from Yorkshire.

1762 has been sold to Alpha for scrap now, just to update you on that one.
