(01 Feb 2018, 4:39 pm)Jimmi wrote The rumour at one point was the 12/19 was to come off 5 boards and interwork with each other using Solo's with three StreetLite's being instead deployed onto the 8/8A (obviously not happening now).
(01 Feb 2018, 5:29 pm)peter wrote I'm quite surprised that this hasn't happened. I was fully expecting Arriva to reduce the 19 to hourly and stick it onto the short 12s as the 12a so that they could discontinue the interworking with the 1/5/5a but keep the PVR the same. That way Darlington would have required 3 less Pulsars and could have gained 3 Optare Solo's from elsewhere in return.
(For those interested if the 1/5/5a interworked the PVR would be 10 while the 12 and the 19's departing at :46 from Darlington would interwork with a PVR of 3 with the other 19 being 1 bus standalone with a 15 minute layover.)
(01 Feb 2018, 6:13 pm)RobinHood wrote That option you outline would require one more bus to do than it does now, which is probably why they haven't done it.
Apparently only 9 of the 13 buses will be branded for Service 1 and 5, so read into that what you will.
The next change date for Darlington is May, so we could see changes then.

(01 Feb 2018, 6:17 pm)peter wrote Agreed. Hence why I mentioned that I believe if this were to take place the 19 would be reduced to hourly to remove the standalone board and keep the PVR the same. You never know what May might bring! The reason that arriva took the 19 from scarlet band was to replace the 1/2 hourly staff shuttle to save money so hourly would cause problems

(01 Feb 2018, 9:58 pm)Multi21 wrote When Darlington have a suitable number of drivers signed off on them. 170 drivers with 2 buses that are taxed. 15-20 Minutes per familiarisation. My guess would be same week as Stockton service changes W/C 18th Feb

In answer to Cock Robins questions. They are no different to current X1 stock however only Bishop drivers have been signed off on them.
Darlingtons 19 will not be going Hourly it provides a crew buggy from depot to town.

Not 100% certain but think 1506 may have announcements for the 19 (and presumably 12) as well as it was showing 'Darlington Tubwell Row' on the screen when I saw it on the 19 to West Park.
In answer to a previous question, the maximum seating capacity is 40. Rumor has it, Arriva bought the wrong sized length of StreetLite's.
The rumour at one point was the 12/19 was to come off 5 boards and interwork with each other using Solo's with three StreetLite's being instead deployed onto the 8/8A (obviously not happening now).
