School & College Workings
Stockton's E400's are about to make their final journeys on the college work they've been allocated to for the last 9 months or so.
This morning's inbound trips to Prior Pursglove were worked by 19204 on route 3, 19205 on route 1, 19211 on route 6.
The return legs depart at 1210 for the final time, today being the last day of term. They'll be operated by us at Coatham from September.

A reminder that Stockton do still operate two routes to Sedgefield, from Stillington (5193) and Wynyard (5197) as well as High Pittington to St Leonards Durham (SL06). 5193 and 5197 are single deck but SL06 is double deck. There was mention of SL06 moving to Sunderland though.
They have gained a number of contracts from September in Tyne & Wear so Stockton's E400s (19204/205/211/383/384) will likely move back north.

No they won't be replaced since they are losing 3 buses worth of work, potentially 4 if SL06 moves to Sunderland as previously suggested. If so that would see all 5 go (no need for a spare).

Worth mentioning the only bus to run on the afternoon was 19211 on route 3, 19205 was also up there (to operate route 1) but ran back empty judging by the tracker. 19211 has covered one trip on a 58 this afternoon but other than that it will be interesting to see if they see further use or not.

Have the E400's been confirmed where they'll end up yet?
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.
RE: School & College Workings
Be a shame as Stockton could do with some double Deckers for the likes of the 36 Which I think will get busy again once things are back to normal. Although with how many Deckers Newcastle have they might just be a very slim chance the E400s at least two might stay at Stockton although it's very unlikely now.

I would think one of three things will happen with the Stockton Enviro 400.

1 They will stay at Stockton for the time being to help with social distancing and used as duplicate where necessary.

2 They get moved along with the remaining school contracts to Sunderland and see use on the X24 and E services as spares as well as local Sunderland services.

3 They get moved back to Newcastle as part of the reserve fleet.

I think Stockton might be able to keep them in the short term but can see them been moved to Sunderland within the next few months unfortunately.

More likely they'll be required for the extra scholars services Stagecoach have been awarded in Newcastle - they have gained an additional 9 contracts, previously operated by Go North East, this year.
RE: School & College Workings
I'm sure it was talked about at one point somewhere on Facebook by one of Slatyford's managers that 19204/5/11 were due to cascade out of the region eventually, with Stockton then down to gain 19385/6/7 to replace them. Obviously that now won't happen but I would guess 19383/4 (once 19384 has gained its new engine) will return to the Busways side (Sunderland will definitely need one for the SL6 in Durham - if Stagecoach haven't given that up with the lose of the Prior contracts and the large win in terms of Nexus contracts) and the other 3 depart the region.

Indeed, 19204 is already off the fleet at Stockton - it's been parked nose into the back fence with the remaining Covid-19 reserves since last Monday.
