Go North East: Withdrawn Vehicles & Fleet Disposals
RE: Go North East: Withdrawn Vehicles & Fleet Disposals
GX03SSU / SUH / SUU / SUV / SUA / SVF / SVG / SVJ / YN04GJG have been sold by Ensign to Johnson Bros / Redfern Travel. This be the third time they've amassed a number of ex GNE vehicles, first time was the Leyland OIympian / ECW and the second occasion they operated a couple of the Optare Spectras for a short while.

Seen a post on Facebook about how Plymouth Citybus is exchanging former 5232 with 3 of our B7TL’s (no idea which ones as the post does not mention it), only that the exchange will be happening somewhere in the midlands.

Just spotted this on the Busesnortheast Facebook page, from a post by Jack Callaway.
Go North East 'Toonlink' Scania N230UB Omnicity 5240/NK56 KHH will enter preservation when it is withdrawn later this month.
Wonder of anymore will be withdrawn?

Think so, but wasn't sure if that was changing, if that's still happening:
5239 – 5242
5249 – 5253
5263
5264
5266 - 5274
Would all be withdrawn = 20 withdrawn + 5481/5484/5486/5487 = 24 altogether

It seems 5275 has had a thermal incident in Winlaton this morning.

Shame, as I would imagine someone would of bought it for preservation, as its the first one in the Citaro fleet number sequence.

RE: Go North East: Withdrawn Vehicles & Fleet Disposals
Quite a few fires recently. Connected with all of the engine mods perhaps?
It would be interesting to know what fire control or suppression systems are installed (if any).
If the focus is purely on reducing emissions, improving fuel economy and monitoring driver behaviour - all at the apparent expense of several vehicles, I would be very surprised!

The only 2007 registered Omnicity is 5268, the remainder are all 2006 registered.

RE: Go North East: Withdrawn Vehicles & Fleet Disposals
There’s something highly amusing about a sub brand of a company that had a turnover of £2.07billion flogging buses on Facebook.
Wistfully stuck in the 90s

If it works, it works, don't see the problem with it, its up to GNE how they want to sell their buses.
