RE: Stagecoach North East - Recent Repaints
(20 Aug 2022, 7:01 pm)Malarkey wrote Would be nice to have a few "Poppy Buses" as well as the ones I have seen down south look really smart, I'd also like to see the new corporate livery with special nods towards the past of Sunderland/Newcastle & South Shields Busways/Economics & Cleveland Transit.
For example Stagecoach East Kent have repainted 17528 (LX51 FOX) into the old East Kent colours using the new livery and it looks fantastic -https://www.flickr.com/photos/darrent857/52189307293/in/dateposted/
yes i see, i wouldn't mind some specials but I just think its a shame as we are unlikely to see another platinum jubilee for a minimum of 80 years (spookily enough) that there wasn't any vehicles done, I know some divisions had there's out in service as early as February if I recall correctly.
I mean how many double decker's and single decker's were repainted in between February to may time to provide at least Newcastle and Sunderland with at least 1 vehicle each.

Up there with one of the worst liveries I've ever seen.
i suppose in 2026 as its the 40th anniversary they could do a few "heritage" schemes, potentially using MMCs as they will hopefully have the longest service lives and shouldn't be cascading anywhere soon. i personally would like to see
1.tyne and wear PTE
2.the busways colour scheme (appropriate to geographical area) maroon, blue and green etc.
3.the original stagecoach stripes (i believe devon have some vehicles marked up like this)
4.beachball
