Green Arrow 200MMC's
With the withdrawal of the 97 meaning the Green Arrow comes to an end, The Enviro 200MMC's will be set free from the 97.
I wonder what GNE will do to them?
Some to Percy Main for the 1? New Metrocentre Shuttle X66's? Or All becoming corp?

I can't see them going to Percy Main for the 1, it makes much more sense in terms of fleet standardisation for Percy Main to get more of the 17-plate Streetlites to make up the PVR.

Equally can't see them being repainted. Green Arrow is a generic brand - remove the 97 branding from the cant rail and you could stick them on any service.

For the time being I reckon Versa's 5384-90 will go to Washington for the 25/28 (which will eventually move to Riverside) with 5463-69 going to Percy Main for the 1. 5488-98 could stay at Riverside as spares and for use on the X66, eventually going on the 6/12 circuit if that's ever brought back or maybe one day back on the 97 if it returns.

Wonder if there might be more movements, something like

Enviro 200 MMC -> 51/52
51/52 Streetlites -> Washington
All 17 Plate Streetlites -> Percy Main
Some Washington 15 Plates -> Deptford

As far as I'm aware there's not enough buses at Deptford either to withdraw the Violet's without replacement with an increase of frequency on the 65 aswell and can't imagine them wanting a mixed allocation on the 5/9/24/26 or 20/20A/65.

Would leave all the 63 Plate Versa's unallocated to do something aswell - not sure what, maybe the X66, the extra 17 plates at Percy Main could do the 41/41A aswell.
RE: Green Arrow 200MMC's
Deptford doesn't have enough single deckers for the 65 to join Prince Bishops, and the 61 to become part of the EDE Brand

Really the E200 need to go onto a brand which has older buses and haven't just had repaints in the last 2 years.

Deptford need to get rid of the Versas

8310-12 from Riverside will replace 5334-36. They are already surplus at Riverside following return to service of 5384-88 so should transfer this week to enable 5328-36 to transfer to Go North West (due to their increased vehicle requirement for new contracts from next month).

Effectively the number of spare fleet livery Streetlites will reduce (these being used on 20 and 65), and the number of spare fleet livery Versa will increase.

Thanks, makes sense with Deptford thought they'd be a bit short. Sure the extra Versa's at Riverside will be popular on here Angel

RE: Green Arrow 200MMC's
i used to like Versa's, however the interior build quality is awful.

You can hear the wheels scrape whenever you go around a corner.

8331 is really bad, I got it on the 61 and when we went towards Sunderland, on that roundabout at Dalton park it did scrape, you call feel as the buses weight went to one side, the tyre scrap of the underside of the bus. It happens quite a lot, especially on the berries.
RE: Green Arrow 200MMC's
If the tyres are scraping then there must be something seriously wrong with the suspension.
I would have thought it would be hitting the bump stops before the wheel has a chance to hit anything, even at full lock

I wouldn't go that far mind. Breadvans, Solos and Metroriders - no thanks.

To those of us who grew up surrounded by REs and VRs, your Versas look pretty soulless too!

I liked all those to be honest, although I hated it when a breadvan would turn up on a busy route.

Some of the electric vehicles look good, particularly the Alexander Dennis bodied ones but the majority have a boring look about them and just basically a box on wheels. One of the enjoyable things about being on a bus is listening to the engine and gear changes - something that gives them character. Some of these electric vehicles make some awful noises. I remember seeing a video of a demo one and it sounded absolutely dreadful!

Oh yeah I agree. The versas are a good bus in my opinion but I would more than happily swap them for a Leyland National, Lynx, Atlantean, Olympian or MCW Metrobus anytime!

Those ADL EVs are awful, a diesel engine hides the creekiness of their cheap build quality. The Yutongs, while feeling flimsy and top heavy, are nowhere near as bad.

I must admit, despite being a lover of a good diesel, I really do like the whine of an electric motor.
I used to love riding the B5Hs for the noise alone!

See I've never liked the noise of the Allison gearbox find them boring like sitting in a van pretty much and they all have them and for some reason they always seem to have idle problems aswell. The Vario's were particularly bad for it.

Can't beat the whine of a proper Voith even known some will disagree massively with that and a good old ZF. They're a bit dull nowadays aswell though tbh.

The mid 00's Voith in particular is very tuneful which was in the 3 Commanders at Blyth and the DB250's about. Shame we didn't get many with it up here though with GoNorthEast and Stagecoach both mostly getting ZF's and Arriva getting nothing at all.

Really? What are they going on? Please say the 60 if this is true. But I can see them going on the 35 or the 39s which is probably less than likely.

The DB250's had a very similar tune to GAG's Voith Leyland Olympians (B*** GCN and C*** LJR)

Northumbria's (P*** CCU) and Go Coastline's (S*** FVK/OFT) had a great sound full of character too with the ZF whine and D10-245 lump

Weren't the Olympians more of a grunt, similar to Scania N113's rather than the hum of the DB250's. I can't remember never used GNE much back then.

Prestiges were awful just noisy ha and the thrash felt like you were flying until you looked out the window and you could've been getting overtaken by a tractor how slow some of them were.

Wishful thinking probably. It's only the busiest service ran out of Deptford along side the 56, it's not like it deserves buses newer than 10 years old.
