Can't call the Volvo B5LH hybrid "decent buses" - hardly ever on the road from what I recall.

(08 Jan 2024, 2:46 pm)Jimmi wrote Could maybe snap up the Scania E400s or the two B9TLs off the City Sightseeing Oxford tour as its getting new buses soon, assuming TT does make a return in 2024.

With Go Ahead Group now seemingly looking at vehicle allocation from a central point of view, transferring some of the Scania and B9TL open tops from Oxford must surely be a possibility. More standard to the GNE fleet than odd ball DAF DB250 repowers.
RE: GNE Questions about fleet withdrawals/buses VOR/fleet questions
The hybrids arent the best for reliability no, but for seats, USB's and other stuff like that they're decent compared to the crap we have now.
RE: GNE Questions about fleet withdrawals/buses VOR/fleet questions
I doubt we’d find out but I assume Toon Tour is vaguely profitable, it’s seen some investment and a strong marketing push behind it. It can’t be easy to run a tour in an incredibly compact City

Were they often available on the substitute buses (because the Hybrids were off the road)?

The current fleet is a temporary measure until the replacements are ready, and is intended so that customers have buses turn up.

I take your point, but I am sure they’d prefer a bus that turns up over a bus that doesn’t (but if it had, it would have had USB charging points).

See I perfectly agree with you Dan. Most on here complains and says customers would rather a bus turn up yet complain when its a wrong branded or not repainted or temporarily downgraded for reliability.

Once the X66 is fully allocated E200MMCs will the diesel Yutongs return to the hospitals shuttle or do you think they’ll be sold off?

Well, as I think the 53/54 is on the BSIP when staffing levels improve it will be increased in frequency to every 12 mins each I thinik, so possibly they will still be needed as spare

All of the Advert B9s have been shifted around with each depot having a vehicle.

Hexham only had 6158 for about 2 days! They haven't got an Elite Training B9 currently.

6158 is still formally allocated to Hexham.

Ah, right. On Bustimes it's tracking as Riverside and has been on the Tyne Valley 10 and Tyne Valley 12.

Hexham run two buses on the 10, and sometimes they finish their day at Riverside despite starting at Hexham.

Riverside usually then put them on boards to get them back to Hexham, if it’s a Hexham bus.

That is close enough to being allocated to Hexham depot dedicated to 10 /10A if not better to target Hexham Prudhoe Blaydon etc

I didn't just want to create a new thread for this question, which kind of lines up with this thread. But when the X9/X10 got those coaches, they all got private regs. Did Go North East send the regs back/sell them or whatever you have to do? Because they were never put on the Enviro 400MMC's

There's no cruise ship transits until the end of the month, so that surely rules out any day trips.
Everything between now and the end of the month is the Balmoral turnarounds. And there's only two of them. One tomorrow and another in a weeks time.

Pic?

Hi,

Tried looking at the fleet lists but it's coming up with an error.

I'm after an up to date figure of the number of buses GNE has for a tie breaker question,

514?!

Good grief, that's a huge reduction!  I hadn't realised just how bad they'd got.
