Yes 5449

angel street deck 6324…shockingly allocated to the 21 broke down in protest around 3.30 and was left for a good few hours at the southbound stone trough stop in low fell

As depressing as the London cast offs are I was shocked at what a poor condition the Angel streetdecks are in. Ripped seats, broken tables, broken light fixtures and loose seats. Aside from being in charge of allocations, stevie wonder must be running maintenance too.

And yes, I did mention it to each driver and each response….glib. One driver ….they don’t give a fuck mate, can’t wait to put my papers in
Wistfully stuck in the 90s

Can't remember which one it is, but there's one that seemingly hasn't moved for months now.
Parked up in the same spot at Riverside.

Not sure if they've given up on it or what, but it slowly seems to be missing more and more parts.
From a distance, it looks like stuff has been taken from the front end.
Theres panels missing, leaving exposed parts from the chassis and the rear bonnet is propped open with road cones.

It certainly wasn't missing those parts over the lighter summer months.

Had a quick look on Google maps and it's not appearing on there yet.
Only a matter of time before it does though.

Doesn't help that they've been sending some on a trip down to M.Boro either!

GNE need to get Riverside sorted especially allocations on the two longest Express routes GNE operate!

That's the one! Can remember you sharing the number previously, but couldn't find the post.

Needs some other parts too by the looks of it!

Aye looks like it's getting used as Christmas Tree at the minute to try and keep the ones that actually work going.

6330 is next to it possibly requiring a engine too but I've not heard for definite

Will pop another post up in the next few days with various faults they've got at the moment

Not happening now, cost reasons cited.

Daft question.....if Arriva got shot of their 59 plate Gemini's from Blyth and completely out of Arriva, would it not be worth GNE buying them 2nd hand as a 'tideover'? They ride pretty well given their age and could probably get them for a good bargain if it saved Arriva needing to drive them elsewhere in the country or the admin hassle with the scrapyard!

They ride pretty well on the 308 (very similar calibre route to the 21 in the most part) and they're low height too!

I know it was hypothetical but I'd imagine the electrics will be here before Arriva withdraw any DB300's.

If something turned up tomorrow I'd imagine they'd prioritise 7501-7/9, 7557/8/60/62, 1463/1480/1493/5/6, 1500-5/1542 out first, or at least some of the Pulsars anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if they went to Durham / Darlington with 7609/10 either to see off the 09 plate Enviro's, especially 7514-17, with 7510/11/12 being withdrawn which are all really shot to bits.

They won't be top of the withdrawal list imo.
