Slatyford’s 73178 has gone to Gardiners for repairs. Didn’t last long did it.

Accident , apparently there’s a hole in the body work. I’m thinking tail swing against street furniture.

We can barely charge the 6 we’re using now mate. Plus these Yutongs were not a good idea. They’ll struggle to do a full day even when we have proper chargers installed. I had 73179 today went out 7:04 back in about 18:50 had 74 miles range left, they won’t do a full shift no chance.

Sunderland's and Teesside's seem to manage ok?

Yeah I don’t understand either mate, my guess is too many hills on the route that were having to accelerate quite hard up. Saturday 73177 had about 20% charge left on it when it was out 9:20 until 18:45 but Im not sure if the buses are going out with a full charge as we’re only able to charge 2 at a time as they blew a fuse in the depot trying to charge 6 at once. All the Yutongs were kept off the road on Sunday to allow them to be charged fully.

I meant use 190 to replace the one that's off. It wouldn't be an extra one, it would be a replacement.

Hopefully when they get the fixed chargers installed and connected to the grid it will get them sorted. Are the 30/31/36 even that hilly? I guess there's a couple of short stretches - Rye Hill and maybe Denton Road but other than that?

Westmorland road from St James Boulevard up to the college, then Rye Hill straight after that. Then there’s places that are slight incline that you definitely have to press the accelerator a bit more than usual. Whickham view, St Thomas Street, Netherby Drive.

Yeah but even with 73178 off the road the 6 we currently have out are struggling to get charged. Not sure if 73190 is just going to sit around until the chargers are in or what. 73176 is permanently at slatyford now too so we should have 19 eventually hopefully it’s not too long before we get the proper chargers in.

Shortly after the yutongs arrived I heard Sunderland drivers sayung they coukdnt nanage a full day on the E1/2/6 and had to keep being run off at different times of the day

They’ll manage just fine once they’re charged properly, we have boards go out at 0600 and get back at 2300, Sundays they do all day from 0730-0015, we have a board do 0416-2025 and they all come back with over 20% even with heaters or AC on all day.
The problem with the temp chargers is that they are painfully slow to charge! We used to take them off at 70% just to be able to have a somewhat near decent charge on them! But that then meant a changeover later on in the day!

Cabs have very little space, dispenser is practically behind you on the stupid little latch they’ve got for them no actual holder for them like on the 262**’s for example. No bin in the cab, just a felt lined holder for defect card, no where to put the running board that you can see it. The bell sound does my head in especially when people keep pressing it, the beeping doors do my head in and the indicator beeping too. The only good things are the camera mirrors they’re better than normal mirrors and the fact it’s instant heat not having to wait for it to warm up, haha.
