Bus Stop In South Tyneside Hospital Grounds

Bus Stop In South Tyneside Hospital Grounds

Bus Stop In South Tyneside Hospital Grounds
I had an appointment at South Tyneside Hospital this morning and noticed a bus stop (complete with Nexus flag) near the main entrance coming from Harton Lane inside the hospital grounds.

Anyone with knowledge of the South Tyneside network know what service(s) used this stop and when did they cease? I've never noticed the stop before and it seems in pretty good condition (paint wise etc). No timetable boards were evident and I forgot to note the stop number.

Service 500 between The Lawe and the hospital, in at least 2000.
Bus stops will still be maintained by Nexus regardless of if they're served or not.

Is there enough passenger traffic to justify a service into the hospital grounds. If so, wheres best?

Used to be one service which served the bus stop on John Reid Road at rear of hospital, sure that one was Stagecoach.  Remember Redby used to have a minibus service using Solo with reg R13 DBY that operated into the grounds from Harton Lane and turned around in grounds.  I want to say that was H1 but I may be incorrect with that one.  It wasn't used much at all.

The bus stops on McAnany Avenue to the side are more appropriate and also serviced the housing estate at Hatton Moor.

Yes there was the H1/2, that served it not too long ago. The 516 was perhaps the last service to use the stop

Don't think the 516 ever used the stop in hospital grounds, not even it's predecessor, the GNE 16.
