So with 2 tridents catching fire, all of them should be withdrawn on safety grounds?
Don't think all of them should be withdrawn due to a couple of fires, so you're saying if a few of Newcastle's Enviro 400's caught fire, all of them should be withdrawn?
-----------------
Which MPD's will be withdrawn when the Solo Sr's arrive for the Tynedale Links and "Indigo 40/41/80"?
Will it be: 542, 547, 548, 549, 550, 551, 553, 554, 557, 558?
I would say that 566, 567, 568, 569 will be repainted to "Go North East" and used to replace the 3 remaining 52 reg ones.

The important thing would be to ascertain the
cause of the fires and take precautions to avoid repetition.

Indeed. Completely different but Heathrow Express have recently had to withdraw all 332s from service temporarily for checks because some have been found to have structural issues.

Exactly what GNE will be/should be doing, unless they find something on all of them, i doubt they'll withdraw them until the appropriate time.

6301 apparently failed in the depot too.

What i think could happen
557 to Riverside to act as a spare for when 563 or 8266 are of the a1 or s1
558 to crook to prevent deckers going on the 18
549 to 554 are directly withdrawn
566/67 to deptford to replace 542/48
568 to stanley replacing 547
569 to washington replacing 570 which went to London
What happened to 552 it is not on the fleet?
552 was stolen and burned to the ground.

Withdrawn most likely or sold on.
I quite agree, loads of different bus types have caught fire over the years.
Several Volvo B10BLE / Wright Renowns (with GNE and Arriva) have went up in smoke with no calls to withdraw them for checks.
Same goes to the DAF SB220 / Plaxton Prestiges and quite a lot of them caught fire but most have went on to a full service life.

Gateshead Central Taxis using a Bluebird in Nexus livery with the destination display set up as 68S Free Shuttle Bus.
Optare have supplied Go North East with one of its Metrocity demonstration models to evaluate it against the forthcoming Wright Streetlite Micro-Hybrid vehicle type on "Prince Bishops" services 20/20A. It will be used at Go North East for a period of up to one month, and has been allocated fleet number 9102.

I find it stupid to test it after they've ordered buses.

Not really...
If it can cope on the heavy-endurance Prince Bishops routes, it'll be able to handle the majority of other single decker routes Go North East operates too.
It will allow a direct comparison to the Wright Streetlites, which are due to enter service in May, for further single-deck orders.

Why not, the E400 MMC did, it didn't work though.

Do you reckon they'll ever do demo buses with WIFI etc built in?, it would be a good idea.

Probably not as it gets too messy with moving SIM cards around.
