Believe this is a fairly recent addition to the fleet.

I wonder if it's still on - big'un's been wanting to see it. A solo passed us, Durham bound at about 12:20, but I didn't see which one it was, from the side.

Finally caught up with it for a photo this afternoon.

Another thing I've noticed in the last week or so, is that the front destinations appear to have been reprogrammed to show the service number on the correct side of the screen.

Ha'way, Jimmi... Letting Kuyoyo beat you to posting this registration!

I did actually see that registration earlier, but I didn't bother posting it as we should already know about the service changes are (unless people have been ignoring what I'm saying again!). In case you missed it, some Sedgefield bound journeys on weekdays will now call at the Sainsbury's store in Sedgefield.

After the scene, the other day , we'll not be back at that store for a while, I think Dodgy

You'll have to tell Big'un that he'll be in citaro5284's bad books if he acts up in Sainsbury's... That's his favourite supermarket!

There's not a Sainsburys in the region he hasn't acted up in Big Grin

He used to scream all the way around Tesco as a baby. Every single time. I agree with him on that one, though. If i get out without an urge to lamp someone, it's been a good shopping trip.

I did more than scream when I was in Tesco the other night! Dodgy Sad

Tut Tut.....no good at all.  I am on first name terms with the Manager of my local one  Tongue

Like you say thou, Tesco is a different ball game altogether!

Big'un did more than scream in Sainbury's, too. He was in quite a state and had to be taken to the car while sorted out the stuff at the checkouts, with Littl'un, who was also being a handful after 2 hours in the car. (Thankfully, another customer helped me to pack so I could keep hold of him)

Supermarkets can be horrible, truly overwhelming places when you have sensory processing differences and social anxiety problems. Most of the larger Tesco's are like warehouses with noisy ducting, beeping tills (and obligatory pushy, shovey, gobby other customers) and that little Sainsbury's has some of the same acoustics, as it's not built with a floating ceiling like the older stores. Add in the long journey after a few days away from home along with certain intense and irrational obsessions and that trip was a recipe for disaster, really.

We'll not mention ASBO ASDA.
Does YJ55 YGO still have the deep red roof? Is it the only SB solo with that roof, if it does?
Big'un spotted a couple of changes on some Scarlet Band buses, today:
YT51 EAY now has a working rear LED
MX56 NME has a working side LED, which he doesn't think it had before.

YGO carried the heritage livery to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Scarlet Band in 2011. Currently it is sat in a coat of primer ready for repaint, presumably into standard colours!

Shame, I quite liked seeing seeing YJ55YGO in that livery, often seemed to be on the 16 until Darlington Borough Council withdrew the subsidy at the end of 2012 and it became 'The Pink Bus'

Oh, that's a shame.

Incidentally, big'un's noticed that many of the solos appear to have working side and rear displays now.

Yes, YGO now carries standard fleet livery!
The side and rear destination displays are progressively being fitted to all buses to comply with PSVAR (DDA) regulations
Have they still got the Volvo/Plaxton Coach
These are qiuite cheap on the ,703 only 45p for a single that would be a way to save

They are a lot cheaper than rivals. It's about £8.30 for me and big'un to travel to Durham and back on the 58. It's £7, just for me, on Arriva, £10.60 for the pair of us. I only use the Arriva service because it's twice as frequent and takes less than half as long, plus that £7 can get me a day ticket, in case I need to go out again, later.
A change on the Chester le Street Town Service today where KNV appeared rather than the regular KNW. I also noticed that KNV is now also in Scarlet Band livery.

Not liking the red company name under the destination.

An unusual working from Scarlet Band this afternoon was YJ55YGL (The Pink Bus) on the 110/111/112/879 circuit. Saw it on the Newton Aycliffe School service 879.

I agree the red company name looks out of place and could be a distraction to some customers when viewing the destination.

Needed a re-paint. It was a right mess.

KNW was on the 58, the other day. And there were 2 solos on it, yesterday, instead of the usual 1. Now we know why!
YJ06 YRD sounds like a bag of spanners. It's clanking, rattling and squeaking as it goes over all the speed bumps - sounds like both the exhaust and the suspension are kaput.
