Has anyone else noticed how S5 STX's seats are half standard bucket seats and half plastic mould with a nit of fabric on.
Driver on the 701 yesterday at 14.20 ish turning right from kayll Road into Hylton Road was using his phone when driving. Not impressed at all.

Seen a few Compass Community Transport drivers doing this back when they had the 558. One of which was my uncle. My grandad wasn't the best pleased when he found out to say the least. Happened on the 960 on the Kingsley days when it was coming into Shields usually on 109 as it had no CCTV that worked.

been doing some research and S5 STX (Former V146 LGC) is ex London and ex Astley coaches of ashington, so I gather that the bus didn't get the best treatment.
S5 STX was in South Shields at 1530 tonight probably on a Scholars. This meant another rare working on this evening's 939. Probably allocated S2 or S4
Stanley have lost the 701 in Sunderland:

Wonder why? Guessing they must have been providing a poor service.
Drivers using these mobile phones while driving possibly!

Ah so that's not just one driver working for the company!

The one who does a scholars around Wallsend normally has his headphones in (not allowed I don't think?) and I have seen him on his mobile plenty of times. Unfortunately he doesn't display a destination blind or I would have reported him to Nexus so not sure what route it is and haven't managed to catch the reg.
While there has been a registration from January for GCT, no cancellation has been received from Stanley Travel to say that they will not be operating the service - the end date on the image provided still shows as the 7th July 2017.

Wonder if the 701 is really busy, that it needs another bus...

Not sure, haven't seen it in a while.

What is happening with Stanley, if they've lost/given up the 701 and now these early it dosen't sound promising.

Wonder why they lost it?
Stanley Travel have had Olympian R97 LHK on the 713 today. It did, however, look to have broken down when i passed it 10 minutes ago.
Do they still have the E200 and when is the contract for cathedral route due

I don't think so - no idea where it has gone though.

The last I heard about that E200 was when it was on loan to the Eden for a week and that was back right at the start of January last year: https://flic.kr/p/CJtk8X. It also reverted to its original registration of MH07EPY, so I imagine it will have left the fleet.

I've been in the Oxhill yard a few times since then and it hasn't been there. It won't have been up at Annfield Plain as only the deckers (and sometimes a couple of coaches) are parked up there.

The E200 has gone the last sighting of it was with Severnside Transport of Bristol in November 2016.
I don't have the date for the cathedral bus contract but I am aware that Durham County reported at the NECA Transport Committee Meeting that the majority of their bus contracts will be out for tender in July 2017.

Brilliant thank you
New into the fleet at Stanley Travel is open top Dennis Trident X327NNO, formerly with Golden Tours in London, whose livery it still wears
I wonder what they want it for?

Maybe replace a older motor or spare

Or do a sightseeing tour round Stanley and Tantobie via Pontop and Consett Smile

Spare parts perhaps, can't see any other reason they would purchase an open topper.

They posted this on their Facebook page the other week.
