We'll have to wait and see, but I think we'll see fewer corporate livery repaints now and more branded vehicles getting repainted.

In line with "Blaydon Racers" branded Mercedes Citaro 5331 being repainted earlier this year, and the shade of red being significantly darker than the much faded former "Red Arrows" branded allocation, the rest of the "Blaydon Racers" branded vehicles are now undergoing repaint.
The first example to have arrived at Saltmeadows for its 'freshen up repaint' is 5275. One example is expected to be repainted each week.

In other news, Dennis Trident 3890 is now at Thorntons for its deep clean.

About time the rest of the Blaydon Racers were done.

4845 also sounds terrible

Just a case of finding the time to slot them in, no doubt!

Of course if they had been considering investment for this year, they may have also wanted to put off repainting them. The fact that these vehicles are being repainted (for Blaydon Racers again) suggests that they have no investment plans for these services.

Just been told about another repaint, coming in the form of Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renown 4903. This vehicle will be going into corporate livery, as per the other recent Volvo B10BLE repaints. Probably the last one (excluding the remaining Trident) for a while now...

1 of the ones we can take off the list for new buses Tongue

East Durham MPD's could get re-painted this year, some reason i expect them to get new buses.. last time they were done was 2011 but like most buses being done they were also done in 2011 and like wise it will increase the value when sold.

Do u know the Vykings.. how many more years do u think they have before they are withdrawn?
I can't see the Vykings being around for too long. Two/three years max.

Whatever happens, it is what it is...

Sooner they're gone the better... haha
Have you ever had the pleasure of riding one up Houghton Cut?

Just waiting for the time a driver asks the passengers to get out and push!

I would like to see something like Solo's on East Durham, rode a couple of the Venture buses a while back
Good to see that 3874 is back in service. Should be transferred to Stanley later on in the week as it appeared on DFDS service 327 today. #getridof3814

Indeed. To provide further information: 3874 has had an engine overhaul and re-entered service again for the first time in two months today.

Hopefully its transfer to Stanley will enable them to get a move on with those Olympians, though I bet they cling onto at least some of them until they have 3876 back in service... Reckon that's another engine overhaul job though!
Mind, I'm not complaining as long as the Olympians stick to scholars (which, in Stanley's favour, seems to be the case, as there haven't been many reports of Olympians on normal service work recently)... Can't be having any #olympianbashing on NEB! Wink

On a similar note - Scania L94 4935 is still at Deptford, VOR...

I would love to know how far from 1st you need to be, before the restriction starts.

Is it as soon as you step from 1st to standard or is there a bit of tolerance?
Keep meaning to try it.

Will have to try on Saturday. I guess each coach has a router, obviously First Class' landing page being different.

On HSTs you could possibly get away with the vestibule of coach F (outside the disabled toilet) or at the buffet itself.
On Mark 4s, the vestibule of Coach H, which is the buffet bar (Standard Class) into First. This may be a bit trickier to get to without looking suspicious though!
I am on the train now, but in coach B. Completely forgot about the 1st class/standard class WiFi and tolerance. May try in a short while when I wake up.

Nearly missed the train, thanks to early and late GNE services this morning. Left in plenty of time too. May send an email later on.
