Walking back home about 10 Minutes ago and I hear a Loud Screeching Sound, so I turn around as thought something had happened only to see the Driver of the W5 rather quickly attempt to do a U-Turn at the Bottom of Lambton as he had taken a Wrong Turn, Easy mistake to make when your Driving a Cadet, Must of thought he was doing an M2/M3.

Yes - on Fast Cats today I believe.

Hopefully it is still at Deptford Tomorrow, as i'll be in Sunderland.
I was looking at Nexus Website new service 919 which depot is gonna ran it I have a feeling Percy Main are gonna run it South Shields to Cobalt and also Deptford on the morning shifts can anyone clarify this please
Just noticed that the 5 has now being removed from the South Tyne brand, timetable is also Northern (they normally wait untill changes occur to update the timetable)
Does 5206 have a new gearbox/has it had it changed recently?
I have been debating whether to mention it, but hey, what the heck.

Looks like there have been issues with the 20's again.
No idea if it was traffic, rtc's, passengers/buses having accidents, wing mirror issues or breakdowns - but a few people weren't happy with the late/missing 20a out of Durham the other afternoon, going from comments on the GNE twitter feed.

I got on 5213 in Park Lane this Afternoon and it Broke Down on the Stand on the 20, took a few minutes for the Driver to get it Restarted, in the end he did and were on our way, didn't sound to healthy either for a 10 Year Old Vehicle, to be honest 4931 which is 3 Years Older and had an Engine Bay Fire sounds better than 5213.
No breakdowns today on the 20 as far as I know, and only the one Scania missing!

All services in and out of Park Lane seemed to be heavily delayed this afternoon. The Ecos were running 15-20 mins late (SC blamed the traffic on the bridge), the Drifter/SimpliCity were running up to 10 mins late into Park Lane, Arriva services running in pairs, etc...

Only saw one Pulsar on the 24 today and the other workings were made up by deckers and various single deckers (see Rare and Odd Workings thread)... Guessing it has just been one of those days...

Common problem with Streetlites and Versas...
When they've been turned off, they sometimes take a few tries to get them up and running again... Wouldn't really call it a 'breakdown'.

The driver of 5217 at some point this afternoon was revving the arse off it on the stand in Park Lane. It probably had one or two issues which are pretty common of a few buses, so drivers have become accustomed to fixing them.

Make that two Scanias Missing forgot to mention 4914 was on the 20A's, Technically 5213 could be a Brake Down but as the Driver got it Restarted then maybe it's not a Brakedown, it was the 15:12pm 20 that I got on, so depending on what time you were in Park Lane Dan and where you were standing, it may of looked perfectly normal.

A breakdown is classified where mileage has been lost.

Only the one is off road, and that's 4992.

All of the others have been out in service today.

Not sure why 3963 and 4914 were both on 20s as only one was required to cover.
If there have been traffic issues, that could be the reason why one of those has gone on (replaced for a run or two then the branded Scania has gone back out). No breakdowns, no wing mirror issues, don't think there have been any bus troubles at all today (at least with the PB Scanias)...
Did 5213 do that lovely lurch up and down when idling?

No idea then Dan but I seen both 3963 and 4914 between 12 and 12:30 at Houghton while waiting for the X35 to Doxford Park, and then I seen them again at around 3ish, so therefore they must of been out all Day, shame 4992 is VOR as it's the only PB Scania that I need to Photograph again.

And speaking of Wing Mirrors, I noticed today 5308 has a Silver Wing Mirror while 5324 has a Gold one and 5325 has a Maroon one, I wonder if a WTX Citaro has a Silver one.

Not that I can recall was to busy paying attention to some fit foreign bird sitting opposite me speak, as her accent sounded canny sexy like, must of been Latvian or something.

Won't be for much longer.
Like I said yesterday, nearing completion.

Hopefully the discussion on #missingpurplesolars will decrease upon 4992's return (as humorous as it has been, we truly have done it to death, and I know I've repeated the same points a good few times now). It has been absent for a good three months now whilst having an engine overhaul, which is why there has been at least one red bus out on the 20s every day for the past three months.
As service 20 has no branded spare vehicles, all other VORs are immediately more noticeable, as you see more and more red instead of purple.

As there have been no breakdowns today, and in theory all bar one vehicle should have been on the 20 (I can't account for replacements due to traffic issues), 4992's return should see a more consistent flow of purple (as today has proven that the vehicles can manage a full day in service, and mechanically, they are fine).

Hate to add to the PB Solars saga, but one was took out of service this morning at 8:52 as it was gushing a lot of liquid onto the road in park lane, was starting to cause quite a little flood.

Well I wasn't informed about that one - but I'll take your word for it...!

I still think it would have been a short trip to Deptford and put straight back out onto the Prince Bishops later in the day, as a friend at Deptford didn't inform me of any issues on the PB, as they usually would.
Shame you didn't catch a fleet number as I could have asked again!
5213 maybe? But I really couldn't be sure.

Well Malarkey got on that one in the afternoon, which backs up what I said about it only being taken back to the depot for a short amount of time and it being a minor issue.

Doesn't account for the B10 on the 20 yesterday, but I'll see if I can find anything out.
Driver of 5256 on the 14:30pm 50 from Lambton to South Shields must thought I was some sort of looney when signaling him stop, after seeing two thick plooms of black smoke come from the exhaust, didnt even bother stopping either so I rang Customer Services so they could inform Contact Control, so then control could inform the Driver of what I had seen.
Issues on the 4 (and probably other Houghton buses), due to the closure of Broadway.
Followed two down Burn Park Road earlier on, to see one switch NIS (presumably ordered by control), but still followed the route.

No notices on stops mentioning the road closure - with a couple on Dairy Lane standing waiting for a bus.

No signs on bus stops you say - feel free to mention this to Nexus, them's the boys who look after that sort of thing, or don't as it seems to be in this case.  After their cracking apology notice from Eldon Square last weekend, it's possibly best that they say nowt!
