Do you not get bored just riding buses just because there is something happening? It sounds as if you don't have much time for yourself? That isn't a criticism or insult towards you in anyway.
Days out with the two of them are sooooo much easier than days at home (and the house stays tidier!). This time, last year, travelling with my youngest was impossible - he'd only just come out of a phase of still needing his SN buggy and dropping down and refusing to budge in random places. We got pretty stir crazy, at home. We've worn grooves in the village tarmac over the years Smile

They're not the sort to just sit at a park or on a beach doing stuff. Both need to be moving and seeing new stuff (and familiar stuff).

The boys love Dalton park because it's quiet enough to youngest to run and bounce and t'other one likes spending his pocket money on cheap CDs.

As for time for myself, that remains the same whether we're out and about and moving around or sat at home getting on each other's nerves! I'll get some in September!
Preserved Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renown 4855 (R855 PRG) was collected from Saltmeadows Road today and is at it's new home with the Northern National Restoration Group.

Haha. Fair enough then. I am bored rigid at the moment just sitting in the house all day. Haven't really got out and about much.
I've attended a large number of publicity launches held by Arriva, Go North East and Stagecoach over the last few years, and I must say that I was stunned by today's event. It was great fun, and there was a huge turnout (must have been close to - or in excess of - a thousand people over the course of the six-hour period). The original post Go North East put online advertising the event had 300 likes, 489 shares and 223 comments, which is pretty good going by all accounts.

Go North East has uploaded a large number of photos to their Social Media pages over the course of the day, and there seems to be quite a few positive comments all around about the event. Sadly there wasn't a special See it do it selfiebus, but the Coast & Country one made a return again... Were you caught on camera?

Must say there was a fair few people there when I rocked up at around 1030. I only really snapped the bus then left pretty much straight away but people did seem to be enjoying themselves.

If I've been snapped today it is likely to be in enthusiasts photos and some random snapped me whilst I was walking through Sunderland eating chips

The one below was taken just after noon - check out that queue for a free ice-cream!

We could also use this fabulous opportunity to play a game of "Spot the Spotter" (I'll give you a clue - he's got a cat)... Tongue

Had a day at home yesterday and didn't even get much of awalk. I hid in the baTh for about an hour and left the refereeing to my husband, after tea. Youngest boy had been quite challenging, all afternoon.

I remember my grandma telling me that when she was walking towards 5397 at the launch in Chester-le-Street, a rough old couple come up to her, with ice cream all over their mouths and about five teeth between the two of them, going absolutely crackers about the ''free ice cream''. She said she could bargain on it being the only reason they came into town. Tongue

Wasn't too difficult to find him :Tongue

Would have been much easier if he was wearing a red and white shirt. Would have been suitable for the place too!
