No idea but to me it should be Citaro's, X6/X7 will interwork in Sunderland so both will be allocated the same bus.

X5 will be Scania's for the time-being.

Wonder when the Angel gets new buses, if it'll go every 7-8 minutes on the full route, it'll require 19 buses, i would imagine 2 or 3 spares so 21-22 buses will be required.

Will be after the 5 year grant thing is over.

Least then it would have the same allocation through out!

I'm going to hazard a guess at late 2017, pure guess just based on the five year grant to have the Hybrids on the 21.

Can't see the 21 running every 7/8 minutes for the full route, can't really see any major service changes taking place myself, probably just minor changes.

Why not?, it would be good for the route and passengers, more buses to Durham for them.

I just can't see it being worthy enough of a 7/8 minute frequency between Durham and Chester-le-Street especially as the 50, X21 and X22 run in the gaps between 21's between Durham and Chester-le-Street although the 50 takes a longer route.

I wish they would increase the Sunday frequency to every 20 minutes for the full route to Durham.

I think it would be, never know until they try it!

The Sunday frequency should be increased though.

Streetdecks next year for the 21 guys , hybrids are staying with go north east but dunno what depot

The trial vehicle has no real connection with actual vehicle types.
The metrocity was tested on 20s and 16s and streetlites are probably/have been bought for either.

The Metrodecker is a far better ride than the Streetdeck.

Hopefully common sense will prevail if they do buy Streetdecks and it'll be table free. Capacity,over comfort

5 for the 10A
4 for the 10B

- 10A boards to Blackhall Mill and 10B = 5
- 10A boards to Rockwood Hill and 10B = 4

I don't think the 10A and 10B interwork do they?

10A arrives at 27 and 57 then departs at 35 and 05 as the 10A?
10B arrives at 37 and 07 and departs at 45 and 15 at the 10B?

That is correct. The TEN services no longer interwork with eachother which is the reason why the TEN PVR rose from 13 to 14 meaning 6084 was (and still is supposed to be when not on the X9/X10) allocated everyday.

Still see one or two in the evening interworking, or sundays. There seems to be fleet number allocations too, somewhere. Always see the same buses ending up terminating at hexham.

Of course there are going to be cases in the evening when the services interwork because of reduced frequencies but during the daytime Monday - Satuday, no interworking takes place.

Interworking is better on sundays.
Drivers will tell you that the sunday X30/6 cycle is better than the - 'northerns', or now 'the nameless red weekday bus allocation'.
The 6s should run onto X31 and X30. Breaks up driver shifts and allows consett shifts and stanley shifts stay seperate. You could comfortably be in hours after running two 6/X30/1 cycles, but you can only run one 6/X70/1 cycle before needing a break. Daytime northern loads are low as is, so it wouldn't hurt to just switch the allocations, much like they were with the west durham swift branding.
Drivers really aren't looking forward to the streetlites at stanley. It will leave the only full length single decks at stanley being streetlites and omnicities. The citaros are apparently very easy to drive compared to the heavy steering of the streetlites.
Nobody is sure whether 5337/8 are also going to where-ever they are going, either.
We shall see.

My new predictions:

Riverside:

Single Deckers:
• 10 Steetlite for the Green Arrow
• 10 Streetlite: Blaydon Racers
• 2 spares

Double Deckers:
• 15 Streetdecks for the Crusader

Fleet movements:
• Scania's from Green Arrow replace the remaining B10's and the start of the older Scania's in the fleet.
• 9 Blaydon Racer Citaro’s remain at Riverside for the Loop.
• 1 in a spare role.
• Scania’s from Loop replace older Scania’s in the fleet.
• 8/13 Citaro’s from the Crusader to Deptford for the X35 (X5) replacing the Scania’s, allowing them to replace older Scania’s.
• Last 5 to a spare role replacing Scania’s.

Stanley

• 10 Streetlites for Durham Diamond – 9 PVR, 1 spare.

Fleet movements:
• 5 Citaro’s to Riverside for the ToonLink 
• 6 Citaro’s remain at Stanley for the Toonlink

Just all guesses, might be a few mistakes.


The above will allow all the B10's to be withdrawn and the first lot of the older Scania L94's to be withdrawn.

I do think the Durham diamond may be in line for investment though. NSAs will certainly be welcomed by many at least.

Cheers mate for that.

So my suggestion is pretty straight forward, I would keep the allocation of Volvo B9TL's as it is on the 10 (Newcastle to Hexham) under a new brand "Tyne Valley Connect" with a PVR of 9, giving the Service two allocated spares.

I would then purchase 17 Wright Streetdeck's for the 10/10A & 47, the 10A would then be renumbered 48 and fall under the "Red Kite" brand, this would also give the Red Kites a full specification of the same features, Wi-Fi, Next Stop Annoucements and E-leather seating across those services. This would mean the 47/48(Current 10A) would have a PVR of 11 (9+2 Spares).

The 10B would be renumbered 12B and have a PVR of 5 (4+1 Spare) and come under the "Toon Link" brand. As a result of the above 13 Volvo B9TL's would be available for cascade to either Stanley for the 6/X70, or even remain at Riverside for the 27, resulting in either the Omnidekka's or Citaros being made available for further cascade within the fleet.
