While we are on the subject of Destinations, I have noticed over the past week that Washington Drivers on the 82s have had Harraton rather than Rickleton set as the Termination point of the Service.

And rightly so?

Well that isnt right at all though, the 82 goes from Lambton up to Ayton through the Village Centre and comes out by Toby Carvery, then it goes onto A195 back down to Lambton, it then goes via Makro and that famous bridge to get to Harraton and finally onto Rickleton where it should turn around at the top Picktree/Vigo Lane.

The 82/82A services are similar to circular routes now:
82 — Heworth » Leam Lane Estate » Wardley » Usworth » Donwell » Concord » Spout Lane » Barmston » Biddick » Washington Galleries » Lambton » Ayton » Rickleton » Harraton

There's an overlap at Rickleton/Harraton - at which point the destination should be changed to:
82A — Rickleton » Harraton » Ayton » Lambton » Washington Galleries » Biddick » Barmston » Hertburn » Concord

Destination terminus points noted in bold.

So it's a Concord - Concord circular, but the routes branch off in different directions after they reach Concord as a terminus (82 to Heworth, 82A to Birtley)

On the timetable it has the 82 terminating at Sycamore Ave after being through Rickleton already...

The 82A starts at Washington Hospital according to the timetable.

I always assumed it was Birtley - Heworth : Heworth - Rickleton : Rickleton - Concord : Concord - Birtley.

It seems to be Birtley - Heworth : Heworth - Harraton : Rickleton - Concord : Concord - Birtley.

No idea what number it operates between Harraton and Rickleton...

Or is it just me being thick?

So the bus is running with two identities from Rickleton to Harraton?

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2015
(09 Feb 2015, 4:04 pm)Malarkey wrote Now that is just confusing.

Right...

According to the GNE timetable and map it doesn't go via BAE/Birtley Road - which ties in with what you said about it going via Ayton, A195 and Makro.

However according to Nexus timetable - the 82 DOES go via BAE/Birtley Road.
Washington Bus Station, Castle Road, Cambrian Road, Malvern Road, Lambton Village Centre, Hambleton Road, Ayton Road, Fulmar Drive, Ayton Village Centre, Dunlin Drive, Dunnock Drive, Emerson Road, Birtley Road, Picktree Lane, Vigo Lane, Rickleton Village Centre, Vigo Lane

It only goes via Makro on the way to Concord

Vigo Lane, Village Centre, Vigo Lane Rickleton Way, Vigo Lane, Sycamore Avenue, Sedling Road, Lambton Intersection, A195, Emerson Road, Dunnock Drive, Dunlin Drive, Ayton Village Centre,

Which makes a bit more sense.

That's just how I look at it and it makes sense in my eyes - but my way of looking at it might be confusing to others.

82 — Heworth » Leam Lane Estate » Wardley » Usworth » Donwell » Concord » Spout Lane » Barmston » Biddick » Washington Galleries » Lambton » Ayton » Rickleton » Harraton

82A — Harraton » Ayton » Lambton » Washington Galleries » Biddick » Barmston » Hertburn » Concord

82A — Concord » Hertburn » Barmston » Biddick » Washington Galleries » Lambton » Ayton » Portobello » Portmeads » Birtley

82 — Birtley » Portmeads » Portobello » Ayton » Lambton » Washington Galleries » Biddick » Barmston » Spout Lane » Concord » Donwell » Usworth » Wardley » Leam Lane Estate » Heworth

Since Go North East published the changes, there has always been discrepancies with regards to the actual terminus of the route, though. Whilst the timetable lists Harraton as the terminus point, the stop before it (Rickleton) is listed as a timing point so the driver will wait here if he's early instead of waiting time at the terminus.

The details on the website state:
Buses will run from Rickleton to Concord via Harraton, Wear Industrial Estate, Ayton, Lambton, Washington Galleries, Biddick, Barmston Waskerley Road & Hertburn Industrial Estate.  In the opposite direction, buses will run from Concord to Birtley Northside via Hertburn Industrial Estate, Barmston Waskerley Road, Biddick, Washington Galleries, Lambton, Ayton, Barley Mow, Portobello, Portmeads and Birtley Centre.

So in this instance, Rickleton is given as the terminus.

Must admit I never got the opportunity to ride 3813. Now that it's at Riverside I imagine it'll see use on everything (might even just be confined to those Jewish scholars!)....nothing you can pinpoint like the Diamond or Red Kite, etc.

Sorry for your loss.

Again, Stanley has done a lot to you...

I had her on the 45 from Newcastle to MetroCentre on Saturday and she absolutely immense!

Cant argue with a Route Map, To conclude this conversation the 82 goes via BAE Systems/Birtley Road and Terminates at Birtley Northside, and the 82A does exactly what I said going via the A195, Makro, Harraton to Rickleton turning around at the top of Picktree/Vigo Lane to then head back towards Concord.

Well, i am going to see the front the most. Its nice and smooth with a hole, nice and curved and very shiny. However, the back of it is rough and doesnt really look that nice and gets quite mucky too.

Just a thought - the likes of 4838 and 4839 that were sold on following withdrawal - I know this is off-topic, but I'd love to maybe preserve a Renown when I'm older...(I know, I can never stick to one specific aim! Tongue) when this DDA thingy happens (something like they have to be withdrawn before 2017 or something) - is this only for mainstream operators, or does this count for independents like GHA Coaches (where 4838/39 were sold to)?

Because if so, they'll likely be on the scrap heap before I can do something...Sad

Only applies for buses in frequent service.

Preservation is fine, as long as you don't start a bus route.

Thanks, but I think R838/39 PRG are actually in frontline service with GHA, will this not effect my ideal scenario?

Regarding the 82/82A destination, just to clear it up:

The blind should show Harraton but the ticket machines are changed at Rickleton as passengers can travel across the terminus
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2015
(09 Feb 2015, 2:03 pm)Andreos1 wrote Strange... Both myself and passenger noticed the incorrect spelling on the rear blind the other night when we were following a Houghton bound bus.

If you can get a photo I can follow it up, but I have checked the blinds on the programme and I cannot see a spelling mistake.
