Down 'south' in tropical South Hylton, the Metro has to pass through the rain forests of Palion and Millfield before reaching the beacon of civility that is Sunderland. Passengers are urged to fill up their water-bottles at Parl Lane Interchange and drink as much as they can as the intense heat can mess with your health as well as the Metro.

The baron ,desolate landscapes of Equatorial Gateshead are also known to cause havoc due to the arid heat. Heading north into Newcastle, the climate is more moderate but the shear volume of people place the Metro under immense pressure especially during the rush hour. Eastwards, across the saltplains of Jarrow and Howdon, coastal storms strongly affect conditions there. Occasionally, tsunamis are known to appear near Cullercoats and Tynemouth penetrating inwards up the Tyne towards riverside locations.

It's gets colder as the Metro heads further North towards Jesmond, Gosforth and Regent Centre. By the time you get to Kingston Park, icicles begin to appear on the windows. Kingston Park Tesco offers an opportunity for travelers to purchase thermal clothing before heading into the tundra of Bank Foot and Callerton Parkway. Newcastle Airport is, without doubt, the coldest place on the Metro system. Only the brave can withstand the arctic temperatures. Many try; very few live to tell the tale.

Taking this all into consideration, it is evident that extreme weather exists across the Metro system. We should be thankful for what we've got.

You have to laugh Big Grin So Metros don't run when it's too sunny, too rainy, when leaves are on the tracks, or in the snow? A waste of £300+ million that could have been better spent on creating rapid bus lanes.

Of course, theres a chance there will be a ambulance attending, someone getting their head chopped off in the doors or no electric at a station!

They seem to have a lot of passengers falling ill whilst in service. It'd be interesting if someone from one of the big three could give us an insight on the volume of ambulance calls that they've had to make this year to compare.

As for heads being chopped off and electrocuted when touching closed doors. I've written an FOI to Nexus to ask how many people have suffered such fate since 1980. Tongue

I showed the campaign video alongside the CCTV footage to a few girls in my school after it was noted on the forum... They've said they don't feel safe on the Metro any longer.
I don't know if that's what Nexus' objective was?

This is becoming a more frequent issue, I thought I was just experiencing wheel spin hahaha, what actually causes this, like because they have to drive away slowly don't they?

Exactly that really. Lack of traction because the rails are greasy off either rain or decomposing leaves or both.

I am not using the Metro system anymore, it's a joke. I decided to get the Metro from Monument to Wallsend, but guess what? It was delayed! There was an announcement saying: ''We are sorry for any incovenience caused. This disruption is due to low rail adhesion. The next train will leave St James in 15 minutes.'' After 20 minutes there was no sign of any train, and there was a similar announcement still saying 15 minutes. So I just walked out and got the 22!

It's a bloody joke!

I am not using the Metro system anymore, it's a joke. I decided to get the Metro from Monument to Wallsend, but guess what? It was delayed!
