3(!) 21s leaving Eldon Sq just gone. None for a half hour.

Would love to know the excuse behind that one (beside we can't plan properly for fireworks or match day traffic)

Anyone know what was happening with the X21's today as I was waiting at Durham for one to Bishop Auckland as one Newcastle bound came out of the bus station as I was the going into it then about 5 minutes later another Newcastle bound X21 came in. This was at around 1pm.

Stick a complaint in asking what has happened to these buses and why you have had to wait for so long.

Surely you've just answered your own question there - Saltwell Fireworks and match day traffic. How would you like GNE to plan for it? It isn't really practical to have a different timetable for each special event happening otherwise there would be a different schedule every day of the year

At the same time, Saltwell Park Firework display happens every year, so this should be taken into account and even have extra buses/drivers on standby to assist without having to put a different timetable in would help.

You'd think but thus isnt a one off. It's all the time, not just tonight, From now to January the already massively unreliable 21 will be even more so unreliable.

Turn around buses at gateshead, direct passengers to specific F1 services

They need to increase the 21 pvr, invest more in passenger support, they cannot maintain a fictional 7 min frequency , on a counter more dirty unreliable B7s aren't acceptable to passengers

They've a near monopoly on Durham Rd and they act like it,

(05 Nov 2016, 9:32 am)Dan It will be allocated to service 238 for the time being.

Corporate liveried Scania L94s. The new service 9 has a PVR of 6 and should be allocated the existing corporate liveried Scania L94 at Deptford (4936, 4937, 4945, 4946, 4954, 4955) or the Scania L94s joining the fleet this weekend all being well (4961, 4962, 4963, 4964). Service 38 should also be allocated one of these Scania L94s.

Other services at Deptford which are allocated Scania L94s are:

Service 39 - 4969, 4976, 4990, 4991, 4992, 5213, 5213.
Service X35 - 5204 - 5209, 5211

The above Scania L94s are all Euro 5 and hence should be covered by 4989, 5214 or 5215 in the event that any branded vehicle is VOR.

Only two spares for service 1, but Percy Main are only allocated two dedicated spares for the Coaster at present anyway? So no difference there.

The spares for Blue Arrow 11 will become Volvo B7RLEs - from Sunday, two of these are now spare on weekdays. So, again, it's no different to the present situation (as 4963 and 4964 are the only spares for the Blue Arrow 11 at the moment).

What about vykings 3978-82

3964/3983/6084 & 6133 were on the F1 to Saltwell Park this evening, I believe 3972 iirc was supposed to be allocated also but incurred a fault on the layover at Gateshead Interchange.

What monitoring have you undertaken to make a statement that the 21 is massively unreliable and a 7 minute headway cannot be maintained? Have you checked all of the bus departure times against the timetables over a number of days, or are you just talking about a few trips you have seen/used?

I know that GNE have put a lot of effort into improving the reliability of the service recently and whilst there will always be sometimes it doesn't run well for whatever reason, it is now very reliable.

I'll give you the point about the B7's though, they're awful
