Go North East

1/2 - We've diverted our 20 & 20A Prince Bishops services via Claypath when they leave Durham to avoid delays on Leazes Bowl Roundabout.

2/2 - If you normally board the 20 & 20A at the underpass stop, we are stopping at the bus stop at the bottom of Claypath as an alternative.

Do we know where 605 will transfer to? Also will Peterlee mercs go for repaint rebrand ahead of December's changes?

(09 Nov 2016, 12:38 am)Ds1197 Yeah that's what I want

This mightn't be quite correct, but a fairly brief look at the timetable shows this -

6 buses needed on 9 during M-F daytimes, 4 on an evening:

1 - starts at Park Lane at 0539 and is out all day. Finishes at Jarrow at 2355.
2 - starts at Jarrow at 0554 and is out all day. Finishes at North Shields at 2341.
3 - starts at Park Lane at 0604, last run ends at Jarrow at 1742
4 - starts North Shields at 0620, out all day and finishes at Park Lane at 0014.
5 - starts Jarrow at 0735 and last run ends at Jarrow at 1842
6 - starts Jarrow at 0815 and is out all day, last run ends at Park Lane at 2344.

Not sure if any of these are scheduled on any other routes either side of their work on the 9. Maybe someone could find out? Fair amount of dead mileage involved if there aren't any suitable positioning runs.

A bit belated but thanks Dan for Red Kite info + sundry posts on the topic.

I'm with S813FVK.  A day's work experience with the scheduling dept. would be ace.

(08 Nov 2016, 6:13 pm)Ds1197 It looked like the driver on the 9 I used didn't know the route and stalled the bus twice, even though that might be because of the age of the bus

Is this really what this forum has resorted to? Criticism of the drivers knowledge of the route and of the fact that he or she was struggling with a mechanically difficult bus . This is not bus enthusiasm, which is what I thought this forum was all about . Try driving a difficult bus on a strange route.

No it hasn't, doesn't mean all of us think the same because someone else said it.

(09 Nov 2016, 10:24 am)Michael Which MPD will it replace?

I'm sure I seen 547 lurking about on the 33 on Saturday, Despite it being listed as Withdrawn in the Fleet List.
It could be that?

In my experience, the Dewentside area has it's own seperate weather system compared to the rest of the North East.

Coupled with lots of hills (up and  down).
Many's the time when West Auckland to Allensford (including Consett to Shotley Bridge) is a no-go route because of snow (though not nearly so much as during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s (though I guess 2010 would have been bad - we even had it down in the Tyne Valley).

Wonder if the Scania' allocated to the 38 will be repainted the same "Red" as the Solo SR's and the Scania's, allowing it to join the proposed brand.
