Mind it's quite clever how the Stagecoach service runs, just been looking at the timetable with it using dropped out boards on the 3/4/12/13 to get the buses back to the depot. Didn't realise it worked like that, quite clever use of resources rather than having a too frequent service in the wrong direction with no-one on.
Yeah the 4s that go from Downhill and terminate at John St in the morning turn into X1s. There's a journey on the 8 that only runs on Saturdays - because in the week, that bus does an X1. Today I did a duty on the 4 which had an X1 which turns into a 4 at Fawcett Street (1632 from Doxy, btw) in the middle of it - I love the 4 but it's a nice break ?. A fair few boards on the 3 start or end with an X1, picking up or finishing the 3 at Farringdon.

I don't understand the call to withdraw the X20 - it's all stops via Silksworth Road. Once it leaves the town, the X1 only stops at the Barnes, the College snd the Prospect. Then it's non-stop to Doxy.

When the bus has finished service for the day, it drops out and runs back to the depot. Sometimes they run onto other services first before coming back to the depot to save mileage.

Nah there was a photo of it at Flickr.
RE: GNE Questions about fleet withdrawals/buses VOR/fleet questions
Anyone know why 6334/6335 arent on bustimes anymore and where they actually are, last time i checked they hadn't been in service since Friday.

Been stored in the VOR part of Hownsgill depot since the weekend. Not 100% sure but I think 6049/50 replaced them.

Do they need repairing. These could be sent to Riverside, today a single decker on X21/X10. Or Maybe Deptford, or Percy Main to help with the 1. Maybe Washington. Like they could be anywhere else in service if they don't need repairing.

6049 and 6050 replaced 6334 and 6335 at Consett.

6334 and 6335 are indeed now withdrawn and are being prepared for transfer to Go North West, along with 717. All three will be sent up to Thorntons shortly.

TVT vehicles really taking a hammering at the moment and perhaps starting to show there age - according to bustime anyway I make it 7 off service today - including 2 breakdowns this morning. Shame to see 6079 off for so long, used to be one of the best.

I'm assuming at Thorntons they will be refurbished and repainted?
RE: GNE Questions about fleet withdrawals/buses VOR/fleet questions
6101 moved to consett?

There hast to be a large issue with the Hybrids (everything and anything on the X5/X15/16/16A) & Country Ranger Streetlites (2 Green Arrows/ Venture over the past couple days). And tbf the 50, theres been 1-2 single deckers on it a lot recently.

When they finally get some new deckers. I mean you have the Angel electric buses coming soon? Anyone know when they are actually coming. I could see the angels move on to the X5/X15/16s

Would they not be better off on the 10s?
Not sure if the numbers work like

There is enough, do we know if the 10A, 10B are going back to every 30 mins or are staying at every 60 mins temporarily forever

Have there been any capacity issues at the reduced frequency?

Should never leave a bus service hourly. Anything below every 30 minutes is infrequent and undesirable unless it's a rural route in the wilds of nowhere like the Arriva X18 etc. If you finish work at 17:30 and the bus leaves at 17:27 it's a no go for example.

The Tens seem to be really busy like. Same with the X1 whens that every 12 mins frequency coming back.

Honestly thats not really the point, and yeah a lot of the services X1/97/53/54/20/60/21

I've seen them all rammed, and its not just capacity, its the reliablity, look at the 97, if one was cancelled/broke down it would be a 30 mins wait, now under the 1 its a 40 mins wait, 20/60/53/54/X1 its not a 24 min wait, its a 30 min wait, and it might only be 6 mins but if two are off in a row, its 45 instead of 36.

And tbf all of these temp changes, everyone bar the 65 was temporary. If these routes were losing money why weren't they slashed on July 24th when everything else was changed.

They should boost the X6 upto half hourly.
RE: GNE Questions about fleet withdrawals/buses VOR/fleet questions
Maybe I'm selfish, but I'd rather be able to get home directly from Newcastle on the X21 after 5pm without having to change to an Arriva bus, or heck get home at all after 9pm like i used to be able to!

You have been told in the past that the majority are temporary and will be reinstated as/when staffing levels permit.

They are temporary changes until (or if) Go North East announces that they are permanent. The fact they haven’t announced these are permanent (unlike X9, X22 etc) suggests that GNE still has an ambition to reinstate the frequency.

Were the short X21s withdrawn temporarily or was that permanent? I would have thought the cove vinyls would have been changed if it was permanent.

Is there a complete list of services which are still on temporary timetables?

I hope your right.

But just for confirmation the X20 is totally cancelled apart from Sunderland - Doxford?
