It is Gary doing his best Jeremy Clarkson impression - in fact, the best in the worrrld!

Yeah, the other week! Is that where he says ''Next stop... You guessed it Herrington Burn''. If so it's awesome. The next stop announcements were quite annoying after a while though.

That's the one.

Try having to listen to it regularly or if a little kid behind you starts saying in his/her best mackem accent
'Hey Nanna, guess what?'
'What son/pet?'
''Next stop... You guessed it Herrington Burrrrrn''.

Or the one for Wrekenton - please alight here, for the shops.

Going through the Fleet Allocation on GNEs website and noticed all these mistakes (some have already been mentioned):

3941 - Shown to be in metroradio livery instead of TEN
3942 - Shown to be in TEN livery instead of metroradio
4989 - Shown to be in The Nine livery still instead of Prince Bishops
4990 - Shown to be in The Nine livery still instead of Prince Bishops
4991 - Shown to be in The Nine livery still instead of Prince Bishops
4992 - Shown to be in The Nine livery still instead of Prince Bishops
5151 - Shown to be in The Centurion livery instead of the Generic Livery
5204 - Shown to be in Laser livery instead of the Generic Livery
5208 - Shown to be still in Fab 56 livery instead of its Black base
5331 - Shown to be Sliver instead of Blaydon Racers livery
5333 - Shown to be Silver rather than Maroon
5334 - Shown to be still at Percy Main and in Cobalt Clipper livery rather than Deptford or Peterlee in Maroon
5336 - Shown to be in Silver (not sure if the allocation is right though)
8306 - Shown to be in Simplicity livery instead of its purple base
8307 - Shown to be in Simplicity livery instead of its purple base
8308 - Shown to be in Simplicity livery instead of its purple base
8309 - Shown to be in Simplicity livery instead of its purple base

If I have missed any out then sorry. Think 5152 is in the same position as 5151 but I didn't want to post it just in case I made myself look like a fool by been wrong.

4989-4992 were never in ''The Nine'' livery! It was 4945-4948 I believe, with 4948 in a purple colour with Go North East vinyls applied.

Nope, retained them all 921/922/923, they are referring to additional services for the Peterlee site, there are additional 201 services in the morning and evening from Peterlee Bus Station to the business park, with the last running bus from the business park extending to Houghton-le-spring.

Yeah, you're right, have no idea why they are shown in this livery, unless the coding for X36 and X37 was the same.

6080 has had its upper front window "TEN" logo removed in favour of a "Free Wi-Fi" logo. Think this will become fleet standard.

TEN 6071/75/6077 have the free wifi stickers too.

3941 is still carrying its TEN logo on the front upper - maybe because it doesn't have wi-fi?

No need to buy a new reg for 4840 as it would already have been allocated one to enable it to swap with 340GUP.

99% likely it would be re-allocated its previous reg number

Potential interesting diversion photo opportunity in Birtley this weekend.

From SimplyGo.com

Between Saturday 1st and Monday 3rd March, Birtley Lane will be closed for three days between Mount Pleasant Road and Durham Road for resurfacing.
During this time, Service M2 will be unable to serve Birtley War Memorial or Birtley Front Street and will be diverted via Harras Bank, terminating at the Leisure Centre. Passengers requiring this bus towards Barley Mow and Vigo Lane are advised to catch Service 21 to the Leisure Centre and change to the M2 there.

Service M2A will operate normal route to Birtley Town Centre via Harass Bank, then divert via The Avenue to Birtley Lane, then resume normal route.

Service M3 will operate normal route to Birtley Town Centre and then divert via The Avenue to Birtley Lane, then resume normal route.

On Sunday 2nd March, the entire junction will be closed between Orchard Street and Mitchell Street, so Service 21 will be diverted via Station Lane, Ravensworth Road and Edward Road, omitting Birtley Fire Station bus stops in both directions.

Similarly, Services 28 & 28A will divert from Station Lane via Ravensworth Road and Edward Road in both directions, also omitting Birtley Fire Station bus stops in both directions.

340GUP is 4840s original reg plate. It would need a brand.new reg if they want to use the private plate elsewhere.

Help, I am really confused now. Not trying to start an argument here nor am I doubting you but can I just ask where you found this out? Just because seeing older buses registered under this plate it doesn't seem that likely that the DVLA would register that plate to a brand new bus unless the company (in this case GNE) had changed it and had made DVLA aware. Again, I am not doubting you in any way here, just so I can settle my doubt.

Gaz is right about this - 340 GUP is now on its 3rd vehicle for Go North East. The previous ones were:
1: the DAF/Duple coach 7035, acquired March 1989 as C776 MVH, re-registered 340 GUP in June 1990, re-registered C799 JGR and sold in December 1994.
2: Volvo B10M (short)/Plaxton coach acquired from Gypsy Queen, Langley Park as E102 DJR, re-registered 340 GUP in December 1994, transferred to OK in July 1995, re-registered back to E102 DJR and sold in October 1997.
Registration 340 GUP on retention till -
3:Volvo B10BLE 4840, registered 340 GUP from new in April 1998.

Details of these cherished registrations (and the others currently with GNE) are from the records of the PSV Circle, the Northern Group Enthusiasts Club and on the subscription website BusView.

Hope that helps

Indeed it does, I suppose, just because a bus has had a registration through all its service life with Go North East, nothing is there to say that that it's the vehicles original registration.

First pass applies detergent and it returns with rinse water.

Wash water reclaim system
Interceptor designed to handle high levels of oil and grease
Biocide is used to kill microbes that cause unpleasent odours
Disinfectant can be injected into final rinse
Recycles 100% of water returned to the system
