(09 May 2014, 4:54 pm)BJ10VUS What's with the flip dot displays? Because I notice they've got a Go North East route programmed in, but they didn't have flip dots when they were 'Citylink'.

(09 May 2014, 4:57 pm)Dan Go North East kept the LEDs to re-use elsewhere in the fleet and replace flipdots. I think someone noted one of Stanley's 380x Lolynes receiving an LED destination display and Adam M recently noted that one of the Limes had received a new frontal/side/rear destination display. Providing they're of the same size, that could be where they came from.
When selling to Optare Direct, the vehicles have to be of a 'serviceable state' - but there's no policy to keep LED displays in or replace them with flipdots.

When selling to Optare Direct, the vehicles have to be of a 'serviceable state' (the reason why a number of the ex-Citylink batch were rejected by Optare as, when withdrawn, they had been VOR for periods of up to two months or so) - but there's no policy to keep LED displays in or replace them with flipdots.

(09 May 2014, 6:30 pm)Robert We know about 4853 and 3801 and 3802 have had their Flipdots replaced with LEDs.

As well as the Busways/Stagecoach examples, it appears they had a penchant for GNE vehicles too.
