(27 Aug 2014, 4:17 pm)Kuyoyo wrote As for the trade plates, bus operators do not go and collect their new stock, the manufacture or a special delivery company delivers them. Alexander Dennis and Optare use a company called Bens Transport based in Leyland Lancashire. I believe Wrightbus do their own deliveries along with any Wright-bodied Volvo products.

(27 Aug 2014, 4:44 pm)Dan wrote Service 685 isn't getting new buses - the OmniCitys are being refurbished to standard specification with seatbelts.
(27 Aug 2014, 4:53 pm)John_R wrote Seen by a family member this afternoon, was an Arriva bus in the green leaf livery on a Thorntons Low loader heading to Faverdale depot.
My guess is that it was one of the ex MAN gas bus demonstrators.

Nice to see the next batch of Streetlites starting to arrive already, these are 4 weeks earlier than planned so our cascades may well see stuff leaving the fleet earlier than we expected!
(27 Aug 2014, 4:46 pm)Kuyoyo wrote That is now on hold I understand (and seatbelts were never planned). Also the seating in 4660-2/4 is not e-leather but proper leather.
(27 Aug 2014, 4:56 pm)Dan wrote After Stagecoach announced to the local press (in Hexham, iirc?) that they'd be investing in two brand new vehicles, equipped with seatbelts, didn't Arriva also have a quote suggesting that they would also refurbish the buses so that the buses they allocate to service 685 would lose the 'slippy leather' and gain seatbelts?

(27 Aug 2014, 5:02 pm)Dan wrote Clearly, as summer has now passed, these plans have been delayed. I assume that the plan will still go ahead, but it's just delayed in order to allow for MAX refurbishments first? These are obviously the priority. I wouldn't like to think Arriva gave out false claims to the residents of Hexham - they don't take too kindly to that sort of thing...
