Things all over the place today thanks to some awkward failures...

1772 on 17, 4030 ended up on 27s, 1456 on 28s (replacing 4030), 1908 on 29s and Redcar even had a go with 1101/2 and 4650 all wrong allocations on the 63.

Sometimes I get bored and think about some of the most stupidest and daftest shite, so I was thinking

1. Why is it when somebody dies we say things like 'Sorry to hear that'
2. When people goto hospital what is the crack with visitors taking grapes
3. Non-Stick pans...How does the Teflon get stuck on
4. What happens if you fart at the Speed of Sound
5. If you could travel in a car at the Speed of light, what would happen if you flashed the headlights?
6. What was the first person thinking when he looked at a Cow and decided 'I will give that teet a squeeze to see what comes out and drink it'
7. Sanitary Towel adverts...A milk advert shows milk being drunk, adverts for sweets show sweets being eaten...Sanitary Towel adverts show a woman riding a bike or getting soaked...

I really have too much time on my hands

Over to you guys [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]

Apart from needing a snappier title (Davey Bowyer - any ideas?), I thought it worthwhile jotting down the rules and an explanation of what will hopefully form a summer of #NEBdaysout.

Saturday 7th June, saw the first ever The Great Bus Envelope Game.

Members of the NEB forum took part in a day, filled full of bus journeys, clues and adventures - all in the hope of finding an envelope, stuffed full of #NEBpoints.

The rules are simple:
* Members must register their interest by 10am on the morning of the event.

* Members must indicate if they are part of a team or acting alone.

* A series of clues, will be issued to the designated team captain and to those taking part as individuals via PM on this forum at regular intervals.

* The use of public transport is a must throughout the game. Failure to use public transport, will lead to the deduction of any #NEBpoints and public humiliation - especially if you win.

* I will endeavour to ensure the envelope full of #NEBpoints is kept safe and secure from third party interference or the weather. But cannot be blamed if the envelope goes missing.

* On finding the envelope which is stuffed full of #NEBpoints, it must be declared on the forum immediately, with a photo showing the envelope and your bus ticket/pass uploaded ASAP.

* Teams participating, must photo the envelope, bus tickets of each member AND a group photo of said team members (those who wish to remain anonymous as far as the forum goes must still be in the photo, but the identity can be protected by whatever means necessary).

* AndreosConstantopolus Games PLC do not take responsibility for members not having a valid ticket, getting lost, falling out with team members etc.

* #NEBpoints can be accumulated and combined with points gained in other events or activites organised on the forum, such as guess the bus, photos, guess the location etc.

Scores on the doors!

(31 May 2014, 9:01 am)tyresmoke wrote They have been making modifications to the engine mountings, and also installing new E-fan micro-hybrid technology which should reduce overheating, and also cut fuel consumption too. See http://avidtp.com/products/micro-hybrid-systems/
50 Optare Solos are in the process of having the same technology installed, indeed I believe some have had it a few months now.
looked at avid site seems to be an ideal mod. could have done with this on the prestiges

(31 May 2014, 9:31 pm)Richard Smiles wrote Following on from Dan's earlier update, following an email received just about 20 minutes ago, I am able to add to Dan's list as follows:

28025 = YR14 CGF (As reported by Dan)

and now in addition (yet to be registered with the DVLA):

28026 = YR14 CGG
28027 = YR14 CGK

These two vehicles, will therefore complete the first batch of 10, as the deliveries are in two batches. The second batch are the outstanding 13 vehicles (28028 - 28040).

These vehicles are confirmed as being the batch bid for, for service 3 though they will probably pop up on existing GAS bus operated routes.

In addition, it appears that the remaining 13 vehicles, will be delivered in a couple of weeks time, from Mid June, so there will be a gap of a couple of weeks, before the rest are delivered, so registration numbers are likely to differ again.

That was quick, i would think the last 2 of the batch of 10 will arrive on Monday - it shouldn't take long to put the reg plate etc on, we might even get a midweek launch on them!

Must have changed it during the day as this morning it still had the private plate on. Never took a second glance at the trainer coaches this afternoon whilst getting more photos of the Citaro K.

Boxing

We have a football thread and a wrestling thread, now is boxing's turn...

Does anyone else here watch it, which boxers do you enjoy watching...

Can't wait for Froch v Groves II tonight, probably the biggest all British fight since Niger Benn and Chris Eubank fought it out in the 90's...

Used to be a fan when I was younger, enjoying Naz and Tyson in the early/mid 90's and stopped watching it when I was in care and got back into it about 10 years ago when I was convinced to watch Ricky Hatton v Kostya Tsyzu and since then I watched every Ricky Hatton and Joe Calzaghe fight, I loved Hatton and I don't believe there is a fighter in Britain as popular as Hatton was...

I have not seen many new threads on this board lately so thought I would start a new one

As we all know, Scotland go to the polls for the Independence Referendum, what is you guys opinions on this, will they vote Yes or No...

I personally think the result will be for the status quo(not Francis Rossi and his pals silly) to stay I place, but it will be quite close I reckon possibly only a few % in it , but let's say they do vote to go it alone, what does it mean to the rest of the UK, the main issues are

1. Membership of the EU, Alex Salmond seems to think that being part of the UK right now means Scotland will get automatic membership into the EU, I don't understand that, because Scotland has never been an independent member of the EU, they are there as the United Kingdom, if Scotland had to apply to the EU, Spain would resist it as they believe it would add momentum for a Basque and Catalonian breakaway from Spain l

2. Currency, they want to enter a monetary union with the Pound, Westminster says no, not a chance, could they not just form a currency, there banks already print there own Bank Notes, why not use that, call it the Scottish Pound and have it on par with Pound Sterling...Reminds me of a Michael McIntyre joke, along the lines of "do you think business news in Scotland has ever said today's exchange rate is one pound..........to the pound" would they eventually be forced into the Eurozone

3. Defence, what will happen with the military, would any potential Scottish Armed Forces inherit bases, garrisons and regiments from the British Armed Forces, there is a high possibility of them wanting Faslane closed and nukes removed, an Independent Scotland also would be interested in joining NATO, but apparently told removing our Nuclear Deterrent could hinder there application for NATO

4. Borders, while I can never see it happening on a big scale, it has been mentioned because of the Anglo-Irish opt-out of the Schengen Area, Scotland would have to negotiate an opt-out to prevent border controls going up, it has been said they would probably join the Common Travel Area with UK and R.Ireland, they would need similar immigration policies than us and Theresa May has said if Scotland adopting a looser immigration policy than Westminster then Passport Controls would be put in place...How would a border control work if it came to that, especially for Public Transport, would trains be subject be stopped at the Border, say Berwick on the ECML and Carlisle on the WCML...

Oh Well, what do you guys think...

There are so many differing opinions on this, that the whole debate could turn itself into a Chinese Parliament ?

As most of you will know from a similar thread in the Go North East section of the forum, we are currently trying to put together a history for each of the vehicles in the Arriva North East, Go North East and Stagecoach North East fleets.

If you can contribute towards this for Stagecoach North East, do post below. I'd prefer it if you had dates in terms of month and year in which these movements have taken place.

Ta!
