I think ol' Rodge is still alive...just looked him up and he has done Commentary/Narration for Newcastle DVDs, I found one earlier, The complete History of NUFC and Rodge is on there doing the voiceover, but that was back in 2003 when that came out...
Wondet what happened to the BBC guy Steve Sutton, I think it was

Aye, Roger Thames did a stack of stuff for the club over the years.
Steve Sutton ended up doing things for 5Live and Final Score. No idea if he still is, but was until pretty recently.
Just had a blast from the past! Can you remember Doug Wetherall. Proper old school before Steve Sutton.
What do Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and The Titanic all have in Common
They never should of left Southampton

Did Doug Weatherall work for the Sunderland Echo???
Used to be some good commentary teams...
G-Force (Guy Mowbray, Tony McGill and Eric Gates)
Guy Mowbray hit the pinnacle of commentating the world cup final on the BBC
Simon Crabtree and Gary Rowell...
Crabtree became a bit of a legend Sunderlands 2-1 win at SJP in 1999
Not long after that Rowell and Crabtree nearly got pinched by the Polis at Stamford Bridge as there way of celebrating could be seen to be inciting a riot...
Do Micks Lowes and Martin still have out to do with NUFC???
No idea about whether he worked for the echo. He was on Look North for a while though.
Mick Lowes is on Radio Newcastle, but he has John Anderson alongside him.
Mick Martin worked for Metro before they pulled the football

He may have been freelance, I am sure I have read his writing in the Sport Echo, maybes the Chronicle as well, dont remember him on Look North though, I only remember Steve Sutton
Aye, Steve Sutton was the young understudy at the time. When Doug Weatherall moved on (maybe to the echo), Sutton got the main job.
I never really bothered with the echo until 96ish and even then, it was a rare read.
The Tyneside routes stayed true in the paper I read

When I lived in Durham I read both as Durham was pretty close to a 50/50 in terms of NUFC/SAFC support...
On a weekend I would get The Chronicle on Saturday Evening and The Football Echo on a Sunday Morning...
On a morning I read The Sun, we got that delivered, but I enjoyed reading The Daily Sport from time to time...
Ok, truth be told, I never read the sport, I looked at the pictures
Sunderland played really well there, Cattermole was brill tonight.

Burnley aren't shit - they are unbeaten in their last three games, and have took seven points. They have performed really well over the last few games!

Watch this, I will have doomed them to defeat now lmao
Sunderlands last 5 against City is great, W3 D1 L1 I think...
Out of Chelsea and Man City, I would have took Chelsea to hammer Sunderland.
I will take another draw for Sunderland and can see a1-0 win at the SOL for Sunderland...
I reckon a 2-1 win for Newcastle against Burnley
Tomorrow I think it will be:
Burnley 2-1 Newcastle
Leicester 1-1 Liverpool
Man Utd 2-0 Stoke
Swansea 3-0 QPR
Crystal Palace 2-2 Aston Villa
West Ham 1-0 WBA
Arsenal 2-1 Southampton
Chelsea 2-0 Spurs
Everton 1-0 Hull
Sunderland 1-3 Man City

Aguero is something else...in a class of his own right now
If Aguero and his first goal tonight was a wank...It would be the best wank you ever had
