I wouldn't be so sure, from what has been mentioned on other sites by people more local to their current home, they are in a poor condition and would require significant work to bring them to a decent standard.

Aye, I've read about their general condition, the four E300s transferred from Highland are no better tbh.

could strip them down for spares for the decker's at walkergate saying as they don't seem to have replacements
how likely could it be that SNE inherits the 24 gold 2015 Scania E400s from Preston?
i think they would be a good fit for SNE, 4 at Sunderland for the X34, 15 at slatyford for the 685 and 62/63 and the remaining 5 at walkergate for replacing/supplementing the hybrids.
I doubt that they will get the ex-Preston E400MMC, they will likely replace their older 09/59 plates

Should really have them on the X47/X63/X77/X78/X79/X82/X87 & X88 as those express services have been neglected in terms of fleet allocation for far to long.

i dont think they are MMCs

saying that if they could blag 15 of those and put them in use at Sunderland to use on the E services to replace gas buses that solves the problem of finding replacements for them.
hypothetically the 15 2009 reg E400s, 20 of the new electrics and the E300s trickling down from the highlands that should be it covered

I believe that the ex Gold Scanias being replaced off the 125 are staying at Preston and its the 58/09/59 reg Scanias that will be leaving

Can ask way gas buses been withdrawn?

Too expensive, basically.
A lot of the depot facilities for them need refurbishing - that's a fair few million, parts are quite expensive apparently and the fuel itself is quite expensive too.

You have to wonder how environmentally friendly these supposed gamechanging kinds of vehicles are when you take into account they end up getting binned off about 50% quicker than a conventional vehicle would and then need a new vehicle manufacturing to replace them. Was the same with the Designlines.

now that I've discovered the deliveries for 2023 E400MMCs and finding the disappointingly low number of only 11 new buses for north east I'm looking at where potential cascades could come from.
I'm surprised at chichester in stagecoach south getting allocated 22 new buses as i think they only have 22 double decks in there fleet, the newest of which are 69 plate 400 MMCs,i find it surprising one depot is getting its entire double decker fleet renewed in a single delivery, This could be down to nearby Portsmouth getting its own CAZ, and with stagecoach south having a lot of ALX400s, i can understand the necessity of replacing them even if they are very rural most of the time and passenger loadings only tend to be busy when the trains are off.
Looks like Kendel/Morecambe will be getting new Enviro 400 MMC's for The Lakes Connection Services -

did they not receive batches in 2016 and 2019?

they are indeed, apparently they're going to be full top spec with the following such as a driver microphone like megabus and that use wireless chargers and all that shame that surrounding areas such as newcastle and that aren't recieving the same spec as the kendal ones

BIB: I wouldn't get hopes up on replacing the native Hybrids - it would appear there's a chance some more will be arriving in the region from Sheffield when Holbrook's E400MMCs enter service. Not 100% confirmed but will help given it has been stated 11770-11780 will allow the oldest native E400s (19204/5/379-82/4-6/8/9 from Newcastle and 19211/383/7 from Sunderland) to transfer to East Midlands as Trident replacements.

so were potentially getting some yorkshire hybrids to supplement ours when they are all starting to fall apart and become increasingly unreliable, that sounds about right in the stagecoach mindset. I would keep 5 out of those ten vehicles that are being displaced, if the Yorkshire hybrids are the same state as newcastle ones it will be a mixed bag
