There's definitely none on the new Enviro's or B9TL's as there's an aircon unit at the top of the stairs when it's fitted - http://www.britishmodelbuses.com/Real_bu..._Large.jpg
Well during the summer the StreetDecks managed to blow out very cold air, whether or not they actually have AC I don't know, but whatever they had worked, and whatever the B5s have didn't!

An obvious anomaly is that the StreetDeck has the route number left of the other details, while the Enviro 400 has the route number to the right of the other details.
When will the X1 Streetdecks enter service?
How many of the new buses are left to arrive?

God knows, believe it's just like a car heating system though when you have no aircon, I know the Gemini's at Blyth do it aswell as they can blow cold air out aswell from the heating system but I believe it just recycles air around the bus from the vents under the backseats (you can definitely feel them sucking air in on the Gemini's at Blyth first thing in the morning as it's freezing cold since the engine is still cold).
The Streetdecks still appear to have them so assume it's still done like that -

During the heatwave last year, it was legit ice cold on the StreetDecks, even when I got on from Tindale in the afternoon, so they would have been running for a number of hours

Really? I'm a middle aged woman and always found them rather sweaty. I'm grateful that we've been told to keep windows open, lately and even then I get a thumping headache after sitting on one in a mask for an hour.

Yeah, next time it's warm I'll bring my thermometer and find out how cold the blown air is [emoji23]
I'm the sort of person that always has the windows open, even during the winter because I like the cold air. I absolutely hate it when they put the heating on. For me, there's nothing nicer than getting on a freezing cold bus with leather seats.
In the car, I always have the air conditioning on, and if it gets too cold I'll put the heated seat on.

Just a theory I wanted to put out there, could be off base here but when the revised allocations for the Streetdecks and Enviro's was announced it was said that this was in line with the expectation that passenger numbers would be lower as a result of COVID-19. Now, I'm not sure what passenger numbers are like on the X45/6 but could it be possible that these services each be reduced to 1 bus per hour each, combining with a still half hourly X47 to give a bus every 15 minutes to Rowlands Gill. From what I could work out this would leave a PVR of 9 buses which would be made up of the 6 new ones plus 6331-33. This would leave 6304-07 for the X5/15 with 6303 as a spare. That would leave 6301/2 as spares for the 21 and 6334/5 to make up the 8th bus on the X21 plus a spare. I'm probably completely wrong but just liked how the numbers worked out lol

I thought the plan was already to have 6334 as the X21 and 6335 as the spare?
How long before the first streetdecks are in service on the X1

I'm pretty sure it is I was just listing what spares Chester-le-Street would end up with lol

The X15/X5 are running with X21 Streetdecks at the moment, the full PVR was made up on them yesterday, and seen at least 2 on there today.

Yeah it's this allocation that made me theorise it might be permanent, of course, it may only be temporary, but it would mean the 'older' Streetdecks are kept off the flagship Red Kites.

Technically he doesn't say the charcoal is a spare...

Yes - with the loss of the 921 and minor adjustment to running times, 2 PVR has been saved from 5 September.

Presumably the 2 extra Streetdecks will now be heading to the X45/6/7?

Correct.

What happened to service 921? The afternoon 941 used to go onto an X1 before Weardale got that last week.

921 scrapped along with 923 since 28th and 21st of august respectively. majority of staff will continue to work from home until npower site closed next year. Demand no longer there

All after they built a new car park for companies nearer the Evolve building...
Obviously they couldn't have predicted the whole covid19 thing, but it did surprise me that the extra space was dedicated to cars over pushing public transport or working with the operators.

And couldn't predict that the company taking over Npower will get rid of all Npower staff in the north east

Not at all, but encouraging more people to use public transport across the park, would mean that there wasn't too much reliance on one employer. Those working at the park are now reliant on continuing to use their car or finding an alternative (and often longer, more expensive) trip on the main network.

Evolve and few the factories had people use the service, however factory hours are a lot different to the office 8-4/ 9-5. For the small number of people that did use it, there is no way they can justify running it. The park is still well connected with the X20 and 35
Is the X22 going X-lines?
