(27 Jan 2016, 11:41 pm)Kuyoyo wrote [ -> ]The 66 is instead due 6 new Optare Versas, along with 4 Solos for the town network.
Also due in terms of new vehicles for the Yorkshire half of Transdev Blazefield are 11 new deckers for Coastliner, along with the already delivered 14 B5TLs for Harrogate. The rest of the 50 vehicle order is for Lancashire.
The West Yorkshire Information Service (WYIS) is reporting the following:
- The Solos are M995SR Models and will be numbered 150-3 and for a June delivery. 3 of the displaced MPDs (Lancashire United-livered 706/7 and accident-damaged 714) are to transfer to York
- The 6 Versas are to be 237-243 and are V1170 examples. These are joined by 220-37 for Blackburn. These are also due in June.
- Coastliner's B5TLs will follow the tradition of their vehicles being numbered in the 4xx series - being 430-7/41/2 (gap due to the first low floor deckers used - B7TL/Plaxton Presidents 438-40, 438 is now at Keighley and 439/40 are now at Blackburn) and these are for delivery in September (on 66 plates). 2763/4 are to return to Malton for the summer 2016 season
- Keighley depot are to receive ex-Coastliner B7TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 402-4 once repainted
(17 Apr 2016, 8:13 pm)Kuyoyo wrote [ -> ]Further details:
- South Yorkshire are due 22 Streetlites - 14 for Doncaster and 8 for Rotherham.
- West Yorkshire are reported to be due 37 Streetdecks - also reported to be split between Leeds Hunslet Park, Leeds Bramley and Bradford depots, with Huddersfield and Halifax gaining older Volvo B7TL/Geminis to replace the oldest ALX400-bodied examples by the end of the year and Olympians by the summer
The First 2016-2017 Fleetbook has confirmed the following (please note, some of these are slightly incorrect):
- Doncaster are, in addition to their 14 Streetlites (63374-63388), are listed as taking 10 11.8m Enviro200MMCs, however Sheffield Olive Grove, who as reportedly due 10 vehicles, are listed in the book as taking 63384-63388 so they are possibly both incorrect
- Rotherham are due to take 63369-63373 (6, not 8). They are likely to be used on services 13 (to be taken over from TM Travel later this month), 27, 29 and 74.
- Leeds Hunslet Park are due to receive 12 Streetdecks (35202-35213), 8 Enviro400MMCs (33480-33487) and the 8 Flywheel-fitted Enviro400MMCs (39314-39321)
- Leeds Bramley are due to receive 15 Streetdecks (35214-35228)
- Bradford depot are due to receive 10 Streetdecks (35229-35238) reported to be in the express version of the Olympia livery
Currently on Transdevs Cityzap and I have to rate this as one of the best bus services I have ever traveled on.
Also the Volvo B7TL im currently on, 3612 is the second best of the type I've ever traveled on, Arrivas 7486 is the best out of all.
Been on a road trip in the car today; one of my jaunts was Whitby to York via Pickering (A169/A64) and passing various Coastliners (also passed a Cityzap on A64 just south west of York), I note the brand name is on the destination before it flicks to the service number and destination.
I personally quite like this touch although I'm not sure how practical it is in reality. Waiting for a bus, for example, you see one come up and in the split seconds you have to flag it down, all you see is "Coastliner" - you're not sure whether it's going to Whitby or Scarborough. I can't see this becoming a huge, huge problem being a mostly long-distance and relatively low frequency brand but all the same, it has potential to confuse.

And under DDA regs, the terminal point must be shown at all times!

Nice to see at least one of the services suddenly becoming commercially viable. Shame the others aren't.
That being the one that EYMS run. You get the feeling they are a lot less hard line commercially focussed there.

The latest fleetlist from WYIS has the following changes (the amount of changes every time one is released is amazing...):
- Ex-Coastliner B7TL 403 is reportedly away for repaint before becoming the first Gemini at Keighley. Sisters 402/4 as well as President 2702 are remaining at Blackburn as paint floats while ex-Witch Way B7TL 2756-62 are repainted for the 152 (Preston-Burnley). Also earmarked for Keighley in the autumn are Yorkshire Coastliner B9TLs 411-7/9/20
- Keighley are soon to be home to all but 1 of the ex-Burnley and Pendle B7TL/President - the refurbished 2706 (B7 BVD). Harrogate's 2708/9 are due to transfer at some point in the year before 2702 joins them from Burnley.
- Harrogate's fleet of B7RLEs - 1700 (BU03 SXK), 1701-5/1800 (YK04 JYG/H/J/L/N/P) plus ex-York and Coastliner 1837 (YJ07 PDU) are to be refurbished, presumably for the 1/1a/1b/1c (Harrogate-Knaresborough) on which 1700-5/1800 are currently allocated along with a few B10BLEs

The Pulse branding looks shocking anyway in fairness, never been a fan of it.

Its ok on the Geminis/ Gemini 2s, Though the E400s where it the best.
The branding on the Streetdeck doesn't fit the design of the bus in my opinion.
On another note, Yorkshire Tiger's former ANE Dennis Trident 891 W501RBB looks to be heading to the Scrapyard, After being robbed of still useable parts.
Also note this one was deroofed around the Halifax area last year, Which was probably the reason its withdrawn.

That's a really nice livery. Works well with the curves of the solo roof.

35000 remains on-loan - following the changes to the X78 back in May, it now additionally works 3 and a half trips on the 69 (Rotherham-Sheffield via Tinsley) on a weekday morning before dropping onto the full X78 (it works Rotherham shorts and Doncasters on Saturdays)

Further major changes are taking place in the Rotherham and Sheffield area in early September as followed:
- The 35 (Sheffield-Wincobank-Meadowhall-Hillsborough) will be reduced from half hourly Sheffield-Wincobank (hourly to Hillsborough) to just the hourly full route journeys.
- The short 35s will be replaced by new service 70 which also partily replaces services 69 and certain 71 journeys. The remaining 71s are also slightly re-routed within the Meadowhall area while some journeys replace the 69 in Tinsley.
- The 69 is fully replaced by new service X1 between Rotherham and Sheffield, which also extends to Maltby replacing the 1/2.
- The X78 is reduced to every 15 minutes throughout the route. Between Rotherham and Meadowhall, the service is re-routed to replace the 22m which is withdrawn.
- Saturday journeys on the 31/31a (Sheffield-Loxley) will be operated by Stagecoach instead of Sheffield Community Transport
- The SL (Middlewood Park & Ride - Stockbridge) will be renumbered SL1/SL1a with alternative journeys operating the reverse route around the Stockbridge loop. Evening journeys on the SL1 are also revised and extended from Middlewood to Hillsborough Interchange (route to be confirmed)
