A further 60 Streetdecks have been reported due for delivery in April/May. Of these, 6 will be used on the Park & Ride in special liveries - 3 will carry Green and White for the PR1 (Elland Road) and three will carry a new Orange and White livery for the PR2, replacing the present Streetdecks used in the PR2 (presumably anything is presently being used on the PR1 with its B9s being displaced).

A number of service changes are being registered in the Rotherham area from Sunday 29th April. Saturday 28th April will mark the closure of Rotherham Interchange for a 12 month period for a major refurbishment - which will finally see stand A6 brought back into use after three years (by the time the work is completed).
While this is on-going, a temporary Bus Station is being built on the car park at Forge Island - a few minutes walk from the interchange and closer to the town's railway station. However, due to the large number of services using the interchange, some will use the local streets instead.
One oddity with the registrations today lists the revised 35/85 registration as 35/135.
Timetables from the 28/29th April are now starting to appear on the Travel South Yorkshire website. So far confirmed arrangements for Rotherham are as followed:
Services towards Kimberworth (137/138), Thorpe Hesley (66 plus new services 135/135a), Brinsworth (13/23, 73/74/74a), Doncaster via Maltby (10 and new 10a) and Aston (27/28/29/29a) will commence on Corporation Street - the 66 however will terminate in Forge Island Bus Station
The rest of Rotherham area work will use the Forge Island Bus Station - including a revamped X78 (which will revert to its original route between Rotherham and Meadowhall, avoiding South Street Estate).
One interesting change is the reintroduction of the Sheffield to Rotherham via Chapeltown and High Green service - the 85 and 136 are officially combined as the 135 from the Monday. The evening/Sunday 85/66 interworking operated by TM Travel are also combined and renumbered 135a.

The Streetdecks due for Leeds Park & Ride are due in the next few weeks. Further to the original details, there are now 8 due numbered 35301-8 - 4 in Green/White for the Elland Road PR1 and 4 in Orange/White for the Temple Green PR2.

The number of active Volvo B7Ls now stands at 53 - 27 at Doncaster (60406, 60703/18, 60889/98/9/901/2, 61192/93/94/95/96/98/99/200/1/2/3/4/6/7/8/9/11, 66336/42) and 26 at Olive Grove (60705/7/8/11/2/3/6/7/20/2/7/9/31/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/40/2/4/5 and 60892/4).
The remaining 8 Tridents at Doncaster are due to be replaced in the near future for transfer to First Kernow. Doncaster's B10BLEs, along with B7L 60406/703/889/98/9/901/2, are also due to be replaced by cascades from Olive Grove in the near future - 44925 is reported to be one of these.

Stagecoach Yorkshire
Under the Derbyshire Contract changes in mid May, there’s a number of new expansions for Stagecoach:
Sheffield Holbrook Depot will extended into Derbyshire, taking over operation of services 73/74 (Crystal Peaks to Clowne via Halfway and Killamarsh [74 only]) and Clowne Town Service 75.
Chesterfield depot will be operating Matlock Town services M1/M4 on weekdays (Saturday journeys withdrawn) using Solo 47325, which is undergoing refurbishment and has been branded ‘Matlock Bus’
Both of these contracts are presently operated by G&J Holmes of Clay Cross who are ceasing service work from the changes. Stagecoach's Mansfield Depot has also won a contract (service 231 between Alfreton and Pinxton) with Littles and TM Travel picking up most of the rest.

Is there any update on when these are due? Also, fleet number details for forthcoming deliveries to FWY, or are there too many Streetdecks (60+ was it?) to be sure of them being numbered in a block?

Believe they are slightly delayed. As for fleetnumbers for the remaining 52 - likely to start at 35322 as the 13 for Sheffield are set to be numbered 35309-35321.
Talking of South Yorkshire...
This Summer sees the Tram Track Replacement program resume after a 3 year gap following the work over the summers of 2013, 2014 and 2015.
The first phase starts on Saturday 26th May and will cover the section between Hillsborough and Middlewood Park and Ride. Buses will replace trams between the two points from Tuesday 29th May on the Y1 replacement service while 'SuperTramLink' SL1/SL1a will be extended from Middlewood to Hillsborough - the Yellow Route trams will be diverted to serve Malin Bridge alongside the Blue Trams. This work is forecast to be complete by Friday 15th June, after which they will be a week gap.
The second phase then starts on Saturday 23rd June and covers the southern tip of the network - between Birley Lane and Halfway. The remaining three phases are all at this end of the network - covering both the main Blue route to Halfway and the branch down to Headings Park (during phases 3 and 4).
Work is expected to be completed by mid September.

All I have heard in relation to them being replaced is that new Citaro bendys are supposedly coming for the Park and Ride routes which need the higher capacity but can't use double deckers due to low bridges.
I can't say I know this is true or have a timescale for this though.

At the other end of the age scale, it is believed a handful of 51 reg B7TLs have returned to Yorkshire from Oldham, as well as a couple going to Eastern Counties. Does anyone have details of individual buses leaving Oldham?
As an aside, those that remain are still well employed, with X-reg 30915/35 both noted on the 59 (Rushcroft-Oldham-M'cr) today, and 30962 on loan at Rusholme.

It is a fantastic route. I've done it a couple of times now, and it is certainly the best one that I have ever travelled on.
It is well worth doing, but the single and return fares are pretty steep. The best value is the Day Tripper Plus ticket, which costs £30 for up to 5 adults.

I've been on sections of it, but never the whole route nor that portion past Fylingdales.
Driven over there many a time, but will need to get shotgun upstairs at some point.

If you fancy doing it as a bit of a day out, it works out nicely for an X93 down to Whitby, breakfast in the Angel at Whitby, then 840 back to York. Plenty of cheap TPE fares back from York.

Yeah, the plan was to do it as a day out, but tick off some more boxes along the way.
Haven't got round to planning it yet, but as I haven't done Whitby - Scarbrough on the bus, nor been east of Malton on the train, it makes sense (to me anyway) to get it done in one go.
The initial thoughts were to get to York and head to Malton from there on a TPX just to give a bit of a head start.
Then do some sort of circular via Whitby and Scarborough and then TPX it back to York.

Delivery of the 13 Streetlites and 13 Streetdecks for Olive Grove services 1a/56 is now complete - although not all have entered service yet (at time of posting, only Streetdecks 35309/11-8 have entered service, while 63912/3 have yet to be reported in use). 63912 has received 'Buses for Sheffield' branding and was used for the launch of the vehicles (alongside a Stagecoach example with the same branding) on Friday.
Their arrival has released the original batch of Mirco-Hybrid Streetlites 63129-45 to Doncaster to replace the remaining B10BLEs there, along with a small number of B7Ls. The remaining active Tridents at Doncaster have been cascaded to First Kernow, replaced by B7TLs from Manchester.
Formerly here on-loan, E200 44637/8 (MX14 FUH, YY16 FJT) have been purchased by First from Dawsonrentals - they have been transferred to Buses of Somerset. No details yet on if 44639 (YX14 RZG) has also been purchased.

Derbyshire County Council have put the timetable for the extended X17 on their transport website - it starts on the 22nd July.
The breakdown is as followed:
- The Chesterfield-Sheffield short journeys Monday to Saturday are extended via Meadowhall and the M1 to Barnsley. The only weekday exception to that is the 0715 departure from Matlock which extends to Barnsley, all Matlock journeys will continue to terminate in Sheffield Interchange during the week - on Sundays journeys will operate between Matlock and Barnsley (although the first departure from Barnsley isn't until 0938 arriving in Matlock at 1204, with the last full length journey to Barnsley leaves Matlock at 1510 - giving just 3 hours in Matlock)
- The present last Monday to Saturday departure from Sheffield to Matlock will run 5 minutes later than present. A new later journey from Barnsley to Chesterfield is introduced, leaving Barnsley at 2015 and Sheffield at 2105 with arrival in Chesterfield at 2142 (the driver and vehicle on that working has a 75 minute layover in Barnsley). In contrast, the last Monday to Saturday journey between Chesterfield and Matlock is retimed to run 15 minutes earlier at 2220 (presently 2235) with the return working also likewise retimed to leave Matlock at 2250 (2305) and revised to terminate in Chesterfield Coach Station (presently this extends to Cavendish Street)
- Journeys from Sheffield to Chesterfield and Matlock will move to Stand D4 in Sheffield Interchange, presently using Stand B4
Transdev
Not mentioned here is the revised summer timetable on Coastliner - -
released today
The X40/X43 are majorly revised - into proper express services. Both will not call at Tadcaster, Heworth (York) or Malton - with journeys being operated by York depot rather than Malton, using 'Pride of the North' vehicles.
The X40 will also not serve Thornton le Dale, Goathland and Ruswarp.
The X43 runs direct from Staxton to Scarborough, avoiding Seamer. From Scarborough, it extended to Bridlington via Filey and Primrose Valley.
On Monday to Saturday, each runs once in each direction - the X40 leaves Leeds at 0935 arriving in Whitby at 1159, returning from Whitby at 1645 (Leeds at 1906). The X43 leaves Leeds at 0850, arriving in Scarborough about 11, leaving at 1107 and getting to Bridlington at 1145 - returning from there at 1552 and Scarborough at 1640, reaching Leeds at 1843 (19 minutes before the 843 which leaves Scarborough at 1610).
On Sundays, only the X40 will operate - outbound from Leeds runs at the same times as weekday but the return from Whitby leaves 45 minutes earlier at 1600, arriving in Leeds at 1821.

How many more new buses are due for First Leeds?
That's one of the 8 Park & Ride examples - delivered a few weeks ago.
Supposedly another 96 Streetdecks due this year for Leeds to replace further Volvo/Geminis - likely this time to be the oldest B7TLs rather than more of the B9TL/Gemini 2s. Leeds fleet will more or less be Streetdecks, the Hybrid B5LHs and Streetlites by 2020 in line with the Clean Air Zone being brought in.
